A 40-year-old New Castle man was struck in the head with a wrench by a burglar who broke into a home the victim was working on Friday afternoon at 433 Norwood Avenue.

Houck, 33, of Parke Drive in Hermitage was crossing the traffic-way near the M&M Beer Distributor in the Towne Plaza at 7 p.m. Thursday when she was struck by a dark-colored, newer-model sedan operated by a young white man, police said.
