Jackson-Milton 6, Mooney 1

BOARDMAN

Pajie Kiraly (9-2) tossed a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and one walk to lead Jackson-Milton (9-2). Kiraly also homered — the ball landed on the roof of the concession stand at Fields of Dreams — and Caitlyn Carney added four hits, including a homer that also hit the concession stand, albeit not the roof. Maddie Griffiths had four hits, including a double. Mooney is 6-4.

Ursuline 0, Lisbon 0

LISBON

In a game called after 11 innings due to darkness, Ursuline pitcher Nicholette Maderitz held Lisbon to one hit, striking out 16 and walking five. Brianna Curd added three hits for the Irish (6-4). Lauren Ketchum struck out 21 and walked one, giving up six hits for Lisbon. No make-up date has been set.

Poland 10, Niles 0

NILES

Erin Gabriel (6-0) pitched her fourth no-hitter of the spring, striking out 17 without a walk, although she did hit a batter. Maura Bobby had four hits and scored four runs, Jenna Modic had two hits and three RBIs and Gabriel doubled twice and drove in three for the Bulldogs (9-0, 3-0). Niles is 2-7.

Champion 3, Canfield 2

CHAMPION

Sierra Blackson homered and drove in all three runs for Champion (10-0), while Tawny Rogers went 3-for-3 and scored a run. Lindsay Swipas (7-0) got the mound victory. For Canfield (1-4), Sarah Vrabel and Gina Mancini each had two hits and Kayley Keller had two RBIs.

Howland 8, United 3

HOWLAND

Tori McCormick had three hits and three RBIs and Christina Brindley had two hits and two RBIs for Howland (6-2). Hayley Marchio, Erika Nites and Kristen Bardavis had all two singles apiece. Emily Bokanovich had two hits for United (2-6).

Struthers 5, Hubbard 0

HUBBARD

Rachel Affagato had a solo home run, Ashley Hefferon had a double and single and Jessica Ditman, Sami Basista and Alexa Bayus had a single apiece for the Wildcats (5-6, 1-1 AAC White). Hannah Dubec’s seven-inning shutout included four hits and three strikeouts. Ashley Bone, Samantha Dudley, Devan Zelonish, Jenna Ezzo and Julia Clemente singled for Hubbard (4-3, 1-2 AAC White), which stranded 11 runners.

Lakeview 5, Salem 1

Cortland

Taylor Waid (1-0) had a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks and Lexi George had two hits including a double for Lakeview (6-0, 3-0). Deanna Walker struck out nine and issued three walks for Salem (3-6, 1-1). Walker also had two hits including a triple. Kennedy McCrea and Tyler Schrader had doubles for the Quakers.

South Range 6, Magnolia, W. Va. 1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Madison Yanek (5-1) pitched a three-hitter and doubled for the Raiders (14-2). South Range’s Carly DeRose and Kristin Robinson had two hits apiece, while Yanek doubled. Magnolia’s Tori Tharpe gave up eight hits, but struck out eight. Today, South Range plays Akron Ellet.

East Palestine 5, Mineral Ridge 1

EAST PALESTINE

Karly Pence struck out eight during a five-hitter and the sophomore had two hits for East Palestine (8-3, 4-1 ITCL Tier One). Junior Emily Noel had a solo home run and freshman Sydney Davis had three hits and an RBI. Meghan Garland had a triple and single for Mineral Ridge (3-5, 4-6 ITCL).

McDonald 13, Lowellville 1 (5 inn.)

LOWELLVILLE

A five-hitter that included six strikeouts and no walks for sophomore Ashley Seybert and seven RBIs from junior Emily Magill propelled the Blue Devils (7-1, 6-1 ITCL Tier Two). Freshman Shelby Crist had three singles, Magill had two home runs and a double, while senior Alyssa Hutzler, sophomore Leigh Gatta and junior Jess Montella had two singles apiece for McDonald. Natalie Notareschi had a double and single for Lowellville.

Western Reserve 14, St. Thomas Aquinas 3

BERLIN CENTER

Maggie Stubbs had two hits and scored twice and Marley Oles had two hits, a run and two RBIs to lead Reserve (9-4). Madison Edie doubled and drove in two for Aquinas.

Sebring 8, East Liverpool 0

SEBRING

Taylor Ward went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks to lead Sebring (5-9). Elaina Jurica added three hits, scored twice and drove in a run and Ashley Meiter had two hits and scored for the Trojans. Sarah Morrell had three hits for the Potters.

Lordstown 10, Ledgemont 0 (5 inn.)

LORDSTOWN

Senior Briana Sinn had 10 strikeouts and one walk in a one-hitter for the Red Devils (5-1, 3-1 Northeast Athletic Conference). Sophomore Sami Heaverly had a triple, double and single, while Melody Taylor and freshman Allyson Hajnosz had two hits apiece. Taylor, a sophomore, had three RBIs and Heaverly knocked in a pair of runs. Jannelle Jirousek had Ledgemont’s only hit, a bunt single, and had two stolen bases — the game’s only two.

Louisville 4, West Branch 1

BELOIT

Louisville (9-1, 6-1) had 13 hits with Desirae Givens going 4-for-4. Bailey McElwain had two hits including a triple, Cheyenne Miller had two hits and Miller and Brandi Snyder doubled for West Branch (8-3, 4-2).

Mathews 8, Bristol 1

VIENNA

Brittany Schnarrs (2-4) tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks for Mathews (2-4, 2-0 NAC), while Catie Cordy had four hits, including two doubles, Hollie Shreves had two hits and two RBIs and Jacki Rhine had two doubles. Bristol is 1-4, 0-2.
