Cortland resident wins $69,000 in Ohio lottery game


CORTLAND

A Cortland resident won $100,000, a top prize, on an instant lottery game called Special Edition Cashword.

Betheny R. Palmer will take pocket $69,000 after mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent are taken out of the prize. Palmer purchased the winning ticket from Circle K #5427, 238 S. High Street in Cortland, and Circle K receives a $1,000 bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket, according to a news release from the Ohio Lottery.
