A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

April 13

Theft: A woman reported her credit card missing from her home in the 100 block of East Water Street.

Damage: A Wendemere Drive woman and her son found a bullet hole in her garage.

April 14

Theft: Items were missing from a garage in the 400 block of Simler Street.

Identity theft: A Creekside Drive resident reported being a fraud victim.

April 15

Possible attempted fraud: A Grandview Avenue man said a telemarketer made two suspicious calls.

April 16

Theft: A Chestnut Ridge Road woman reported her cellphone stolen.

April 17

Harassment: A Mackey Street woman said a man made a threatening call to her.

LIBERTY

April 13

Arrest: Police responding to an assault charged 40-year-old Jeffrey T. Gershman, 22 James Lane, Girard, with corrupting another person with drugs, a third-degree felony, and endangering children, a misdemeanor, after accusing him of providing morphine to two minors who complained of headaches. The teens felt nauseated and lethargic afterward, a report said.

April 14

Theft: A man grabbed an undisclosed sum of money and fled Charley’s Steakery, 3219 Belmont Ave.

Arrest: A vehicle check in the 2100 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road resulted in 43-year-old David G. Lipkovich’s arrest. Lipkovich, of 2192 Tibbetts-Wick, Liberty, was wanted on a warrant from Trumbull County.

Theft: Ted J. Papiernik, 52, of 2044 Crestwood Drive, Youngstown, was charged after an employee with Radio Shack in the Liberty Plaza alleged Papiernik had added prepaid minutes to a phone, then deliberately voided the transaction to avoid paying the fee.

Arrest: Police picked up 46-year-old David J. Derthick, 1603 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Mercer, Pa., who was in the Portage County Jail and wanted by township authorities on a warrant.

Domestic violence: A 14-year-old township boy was charged with the crime after two Trumbull Court residents alleged he had threatened them with a large kitchen knife during an argument and twice said he would kill them.

Arrest: Authorities took custody of 19-year-old Antwanisha Jones, 130 Halleck St., Youngstown. Jones was wanted by Liberty police on a charge of failing to appear in court.

April 15

Drugs: Michael D. Porterfield, 41, of 328 Maryland St., Warren, was charged with drug abuse and driving a vehicle with no operator’s license after police pulled him over on Tibbetts-Wick Road. Porterfield admitted a bag of suspected marijuana was his, a report said.

Fraud: An Anderson-Morris Road man learned someone used his credit-card number to obtain a credit report.

Harassment: A Pinecrest Court man told police a woman posted threatening and slanderous comments about him online.

April 16

Arrest: Anthony Hobbs, 20, of 42 Garfield Ave., Youngstown, was picked up on Motor Inn Drive on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in court on a larceny count.

Arrest: Officers took custody of Felicia I. Wallace, 38, of 2727 Cain St., Youngstown, who was at the Mahoning County jail. She was wanted on a township warrant.

April 17

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs at a residence and garage in the 1200 block of Vine Avenue and placed toilet paper in a tree.

Assaults: Two women each reported having been struck by the other during a fight in the 1000 block of Church Hill Road, though neither was seriously injured.

Theft: A Youngstown man discovered his bicycle stolen while in the 200 block of Goldie Road.

Arrests: Authorities charged 52-year-old Victor Long of Detroit with two counts of misuse of a credit card and one each of theft, theft by deception and possession of drug paraphernalia after accusing him of using a credit card without authorization to buy two flat-screen TVs at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road. Charged with complicity to theft were 67-year-old James L. Hopson and Teresa M. Whitehead, 36, both of 444 Catalina Ave., Youngstown.

GIRARD

April 13

Drugs: Police responded to a woman asleep for more than an hour in a vehicle on East Wilson Avenue and said they found 52 pills of various types in the car.

Assault: An Olive Street woman reported a neighbor intentionally shot her and her son with a pellet gun.

Criminal damaging: Pellets were used to break a window to a home in the 500 block of East Broadway Avenue and cause an estimated $300 in damage.

Theft: A $35 hubcap was removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Washington Avenue.

Attempted fraud: An East Liberty Street man said a caller claiming the accuser had won $1 million and a new car instructed him to first mail $300 to a woman in Dayton.

Harassment: A Washington Avenue woman said her mother has been making such calls as part of a dispute between the two.

April 14

Weapon: An official with Girard High School, 1244 Shannon Road, reported a student had a large pocket knife, though no charges were to be filed.

Assaults: Four people reported having been pushed and punched during an altercation in the 100 block of East Kline Street.

April 15

Theft: A Harry Street man reported a former tenant failed to return a $500 awning.

Trespassing: A man told officers a former tenant entered a building without permission in the 900 block of North State Street to collect personal property.

April 16

Theft: A $250 tailgate was stolen off a truck in the 500 block of Park Avenue.

April 17

Criminal mischief: Someone used a key to damage the finish on two cars in the 300 block of East Kline Street. Total damage came to $1,000.

Assault: A South Davis Street man reported another man punched the accuser’s face.

April 18

Assaults: Two teachers at Girard Intermediate School, 700 E. Prospect St., reported a student slapped their hands.
