Beaver Local returns 13 letterwinners from an uncharacteristic 2008 season, which saw the Beavers finish 4-6 and struggle to compete against the best teams on their schedule. The good news is, they won their last three games and return eight starters (three on offense, five on defense) in hopes of taking a step forward this fall. There's a lot of uncertainty at the skill positions on offense — wideout Jake Lunders is the only returnee — but center Vince Jarvis and tackle Brent Cole return to solidify things up front. On defense, all three linebackers are back, which is key in a run-heavy conference like the AAC Red.
