Kasich offers meeting on SB 5

The unions were 'supposedly' winning in Wisconsin and Republicans won a supreme court race and multiple special elections to hold onto their lead in the state senate there.

Anyone who think this SB5 vote is going to get repealed in a blowout is in for a rude awakening in November.

Yes on 2.

Youngstown State University cannot afford faculty strike

Shame on the union if they strike... Students all over the Internet are furious right now with this union, just go look at Twitter.

Faculty union, YSU trustees can’t agree on dollars

YSU faculty must really want SB5 to pass. If they strike... its odds increase immensely!

Will YSU faculty take strike vote?

I will be pretty upset with my professors if they choose to go on strike... The economy is heading back into another recession. The last thing they should be receiving is pay hikes when our tuition continues to rise... Makes no sense.

Downtown Youngstown convenience store/deli opens Friday

I love all the tools on here who believe Downtown is sooooooo unsafe... Well over 10,000+ down there last night for Crue and Italian Fest and it was safe!

Harding standout Brandian Ross signs with Green Bay Packers

Dagwood,

I attend almost EVERY single YSU football and basketball game. I can say unequivocally that people stating we need to recruit more kids just do not understand the following:

a) YSU does recruit local athletes, but in the case of Glover, or Clarett, or Zordich, etc, they simply go to bigger schools because they are good enough to play at higher Division 1 schools

b) Many local kids have attempted to play football or basketball at YSU, but more often than not, if they don't play in their first year, they leave to play in Division 2 because they simply aren't good enough to play at this level.

Wolford's roster is loaded with local kids that will bring us back on top, but remember that many of Tressel's best recruits came from outside the area.

Issue to block federal health care in Ohio cleared for November ballot

northsideperson,

The Ohio Project was created a few weeks after the bill was signed into law. They have been working on this WELL BEFORE John Kasich was our Governor and before SB5 was passed into law.

However it will play a pivotal role in voter turnout in November. Tea Party vs. Labor Unions.
