Area free agents

Only one area football player, former Warren Harding standout Sidney Glover, has been confirmed to have signed a free agent contract with an NFL team on Tuesday.

Former YSU cornerback Brandian Ross signed with the Green Bay Packers. Ross is the first UFA from Youngstown State since Russell Stuvaints (Steelers) in 2003.

Former Cardinal Mooney star Derrell Johnson-Koulianos reportedly signed with the Eagles, but that was refuted by the former Iowa receiver on his Twitter page: “Philly = Rumor.” Also, he was not listed on the Eagles’ web site of signed free agents.

Donovan Fletcher (Ohio) and Angelo Babbaro (Villanova) also remain unsigned.

Mount Union’s Kyle Miller was signed on Tuesday by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was a tight end for the Purple Raiders but is expected to compete for the team’s long snapper position. He will join college teammate Cecil Shorts III, a fourth-round draft choice of the Jaguars, in training camp.
