Team Roster 2010
Coach: Brian Shaner
Coming off a 3-7 season, East has 16 lettermen returning, including six starters each on offense and defense. The Panthers will run a spread offense and a 3-3 stack defense. Head coach Brian Shaner said team speed will be a strength and he’s concerned about lack of depth. Among the players the Panthers lost to graduation were Kendall Peterson (tackle/linebacker who was All-NEO) and TT Meyers (running back/linebacker who was honorable mention All-NEO). Quarterback Shajehan Haywood passed for 1,500 yards in 2009, with wide receiver Mike Thomas totaling 700 yards in receptions. Oshay Lawrence had 300 yards receiving while Tyrell Riddle had 200 yards. Running back Leon Edwards rushed for 400 yards in 2009.
Quote:
"Sixteen lettermen have us optimistic for the simple reason of playing time. We have guys who have experienced Friday Nights."
