Springfield's 2-8 mark in 2007 is a bit misleading. The Tigers were good enough to be in most games, but not good enough to win them. Springfield's strength this season will be defense, due to eight returning starters. There's some holes in the secondary, but the Tigers should be strong against the run. Offensively, the big loss was QB Nate Schuler, who threw for 1,800 yards and is now playing safety at Akron. Leading receivers Brandon Goist and Jarrod Lewis are also gone. But two-year lettermen Ronnie Snyder and Dylan DeJane are back in the backfield and there's strength at the tackles on the line.
