Team Roster 2009

Coach: D.J. Ogilvie
The Spartans return 18 letterwinners but have some huge holes to fill after the graduation of linemen Corey Linsley (Ohio State) and Alex Lipinsky, RB Damien Jarrett and TE Pat McFall. With five starters back on offense, including senior quarterback Rob Boyd, the Spartans have the potential to improve on that side of the ball, especially since senior wideout Chase Hammond returns after missing last season with injury. Defensively, the Spartans lost nine starters and need to grow up fast. Senior DT J.T. Moore, an Ohio State recruit, will be a bright spot on defense but will likely face more double teams. Boardman doesn't have a lot of size but with 24 seniors, leadership and effort shouldn't be a problem.
