Girard Mayor James Melfi, who is seeking re-election, was interviewed by Vindicator editorial writers and reporters April 10 as part of the endorsement process. He is being challenged for the Democratic nomination by Dan Moadus and Louis Adovasio. Adovasio did not appear for an interview. Asking questions were Dennis Mangan, editorial page editor; Bertram de Souza, editorial writer and columnist; David Skolnick, politics writer, and John Goodwin, a reporter who covers Girard.
