YSU prez mugs the faculty

A 40 vote margin using the 2010 faculty numbers of 414 total faculty would equate to a 227-187 vote, or a 55%-45% margin.... Hardly substantial in my eyes.

Red Lion lives up to the hype, defeats Ursuline 54-18

Thomas1, only problem is he started as an 8th grader for this team. This was NOT his first high school start.

I'd like to see Coldwater and/or Lima Central Catholic take on your team noteworthy... So who is your team???

YSU holds course

People bring up the Bush tax cuts and say they are all for the rich. They are ignorant because the Bush tax cuts greatly expanded the child tax credit for American families.

But once again fellow writers, the 'intellectual liberals' are right and the conservatives are wrong.

There is no reasoning with these people. You post facts, but then you are degraded for posting them... None of them want to mention their sweetheart 9.5% raises during the recession.... N-O-N-E O-F T-H-E-M!

Don't back down Board of Trustees! You are doing the right job!

Red Lion lives up to the hype, defeats Ursuline 54-18

Ursuline Total Offense: 544 yards

Red Lion Total Offense: 462 yards

Ursuline got destroyed by their own mistakes. Red Lion was definitely a better team, but the score should have never had gotten to 54-18.

YSU faculty calls off strike

I get this feeling from my peers that I am somewhat evil or just flat out wrong for standing firm in my support of the Administration. Although I have presented numerous facts to the discussion, I've been denigrated every step of the way.

If you are supporting the Administration on here, you may as well stop. They are right and we are wrong.

They have this elitist mindset and are looking down upon all of us... Pretty sad in my eyes.

Nobody supporting the Faculty wants to make mention of the raises they received the last three years in a recession. Nobody support the Faculty wants to pay anywhere near the average amount for health-care that those in the private sector pay, 23%. Nobody supporting the Faculty wants to recognize the $125,000 that Dr. Anderson has donated from her salary to the YSU Scholarship Foundation in the past year.

Ignore those facts.. At the end of the day, the 'educated intellectuals' are right, and the many of us with a college education or who are receiving a college education are WRONG.

Strike threat shows need for SB5

Peggy, the bottom line is their salary will go up 2% over three years instead of 3% as what they supported in the fact-finders report. The administration has agreed to take a pay freeze and to contribute more to their health care as well.

Not sure why their is so much anger over this deal. They supported a deal which meant 3% raises over 3 years and to pay 15% of their health care, but they won't support a deal which means 2% raises over 3 years and them paying 10%, 12%, and 15% of their health care over three years.
