Is the Youngstown Playhouse paying its legal share of taxes? I posed a form of this question to Youngstown Playhouse blogger 'kong888' and that Youngstown Playhouse blogger would not answer the question.
Here is the link to the story and banter back and forth, if not removed by vindy staff:
Future questions that must be asked is how safe are the paying patrons at the Youngstown Playhouse since the Youngstown Playhouse apparently/seemingly rests in the heart of gang territory?
A website is being created/developed to ask the Youngstown Playhouse about the taxes it pays and the safety of its property. Other theaters will be included as blogger kong888 has requested.
"The same 15 actors appear on every single show at the Vic. The same 20 people appear in every show at the Rust Belt. Will these organizations be investigated as well? You'd best be careful if you start overturning those rocks.
Did you want to be in "The Odd Couple"? What part would you want? Heck, head on down there right now because I assure you there are at least half a dozen volunteers down there finishing the set as I type. Btw, not sure the point of your African-American tangent. The Playhouse is the ONLY theater in Youngstown where you'll see a black person on stage. Why are other theaters not being held to your racial standard?"
After you calling the other theaters racist, you bet I will include them in my investigation(s).
I'll add another question which I am certain you will refuse to answer as well,-
Why did the Youngstown Playhouse make a deal with a church only for the Youngstown Playhouse to back out of the deal? The Youngstown Playhouse thought they had made a great deal, so what changed? The church kept their end of the bargain, right?
I think you either don't understand what you have started or you you don't understand the situation you have placed the Youngstown Playhouse in.
Perhaps you should alert your Board of Directors to our communications and the attorney on your board.
I just purchased a domain name and will have a website up in about 3 weeks. Perhaps 4 weeks, but I did purchase the domain name and will have the website up for you and I to 'play'. Maybe I'll include a forum. Anyway, website opening night in 3 to 4 weeks.
With this website I will be able to ask Youngstown Playhouse questions and you can provide answers regarding the Youngstown Playhouse. Maybe you can answer a list of questions about Rosebud Productions as well. A children's doctor in Youngstown owns that, right?
Additionally, as you have essentially stated that my whiny ass get off the computer to get involved, but what if I am a parent of a youth involved in some way at the Youngstown Playhouse?
Will you next start stating that parents whose children are active at the Youngstown Playhouse are not involved parents?
What if I myself was somehow involved in 'Titanic' or 'Cats' or 'Chicago'and on? Doesn't count? Think about it. Re-read the question if you are confused.
kong888, you're good for me because I do want to get involved and now through your motivation ("So if you want to get involved...involve yourself.") I am involving myself. Thanks for the motivation.
"The transformation of the city center to an arts and entertainment mecca will take another leap in the summer of 2017, if the new riverside amphitheater opens, as planned."
Lets hope so. Progress starting slow will allow folks involved to make correct decisions, navigate the ship as needed.
"The next problem might become: Is there too much entertainment for this shrinking metro area?"
So far, no. The biggest problem in local entertainment are the enormous (in management ) egos.
