Mahoning commissioners adopt one-month budget to begin 2010

Police and Fire should not be laid off. Governor Ted "Teddy" Stricklands office should be notified and The National Guard sent in if those safety forces lay offs are threatened again or enacted.

I hate to see floors of the jail closed when we ought to be building more jails to house our towns scum.

Can't afford to build new jails and house the scum inmates? Why not enforce current laws and perhaps enact new laws that encourage town scum to leave our area and go elsewhere.

Ohio models get naked, cold for photographer

"After posing nude for five photos, model Jen Maurer said she could not imagine what it was like to go down in the icy water on board the Titanic."

Then Jen Maurer stated that she admired Miss South Carolina and, such as, the people of The Youngstown, such as Youngstownians such as, and compared Pete the Penguin to, such as, frozen tuna of the sea and lands thereabout, such as the land mass frozen such as the ice capades on the land of ice and such as.

Here is a link where here hero can be found:

I find it more than offensive that she compared nude wintry modeling to dying aboard The Titanic.

Woman calls 911 when husband refuses to eat dinner

" including a call to complain that her husband refused to eat his dinner."

and

"the 53-year-old woman was also yelling "about things that happened two weeks ago."

I hope to read about additional charges that the woman was charged with impersonating a wife.
What is the poor husband doing with this woman if he apparently stresses her out so much. He should leave her for HER sake. God speed.

Traficant to speak at AFP event

"AFP believes that, “In the United States today, it is a select handful of super-rich families and tightly-knit financial interests ... who own the Big Media and who control the government through their ownership of that media,” its web site says."

I'm not disagreeing with the American Free Press, but why hasn't the American People stood up and demanded more honesty from the press and less big government in the people's lives.

Maybe Americans are too busy caring for their Toyota's.

Really, does anyone care about truth and what is going on? The teaparty folks are about as close as giving a damn gets and frankly their actions are not enough.

Keep Interstate 80 free

Great article. I would like to read the other side of the story, although I am in total agreement with this article.

Traficant plays us, the press, for fools

Interesting scenarios playing out.

The casino proposal keeps him "publicly" alive and if indeed reaches fulfillment, well, his transformation places him somewhere from a P.T Barnum to a God. The same as it is now.

The Congressional petition keeps him "politically" viable. Black and white or smoke and mirrors, one of these districts will be friendly and within a ridiculous margin of 20% re- elect him to office if he chooses that path. Afterall, he'll wait a few weeks before an election to bring out the fireworks anyway... The same as he has always done.

Either way, like the label or not, this living "political legend" is walking a high wire no one in our lifetime has ever walked before and with a passion for fighting, it makes for incredible entertainment. The same as our town has always enjoyed.

Entertainment aside, I wish our town, the greatest city in the world, could find someone who would stand up and at least do their job, even if they are learning it as they go, regardless of party affiliation, honestly and determined to give Youngstown, the greatest city in the world, the credibility it deserves.

Ohio’s businesses need credit

Fine article. I would like to read an article that presents facts for Ohio businesses to Ohio businesses [ b2b] VS. Ohio business to oustide or non Ohio businesses.

First we need to stabilize amongst ourselves, then we can all draw from the well in a more nationally competitive and hence balanced environment.

Thanks for the article.

CDC: Rare infection passed on by Mississippi organ donor

“We test for the known harmful diseases, but there’s no a test for every single pathogen out there..."

Why is that and why does that have to be? With "computers" today I believe so much more is possible.

Christmas at the Arms

My wife and I LOVE the Arms Museum and take in a tour about every 14 to 16 months. I appreciate the idea and suggestion to check it out for the holidays as we haven't at this beautiful time of year. It must look incredible!

Filmmakers shoot in Youngstown; evoke sentiments of war near and far

Thank you for shooting your movie here in Youngstown Ohio - The very heart of the Midwest!

Please consider other movie scenarios / scripts for Youngstown as Youngstown is a wonderful and great way to accomplish so very much and get a great return for your dollar.

Looking forward to viewing the film. Sounds like a great story!
