Statehouse lockout: Senate Bill 5 foes denied entry

I don't want SB5 to pass either, but my anger is directed at some of the people leaving messages here.

Most of you voted for O'bama. You parked your foreign cars in the poll parking lot and went in and voted for him after hearing what he and his wife said about our beautiful country.

Most of you voted for Kasich. He told the voters what he was going to do. He was indeed open about his agenda, just like President O'bama.

Now all of you whiners, and I'm whining too, are paying the price and all of you will lose this fight, but I give you credit even if you are giving too little, too late.

That pension looks like a million bucks; take another 100 grand for good measure

@antifascist

"I think Webb is wrong to take all the cash and benefits she did but place the blame squarely on those who approved this."

Well blame Anthony Catale who allowed this situation to foster and grow. Now, Anthony "DO NOTHING" Catale is running for 5th ward city council and our community needs to rid this type of parasite upon us taxpayers.

Firing in Youngstown sparks charge of bias

Drug test every City of Youngstown employee and if they test positive go through the process until they can be terminated.

The new hires can be hired at a lesser rate and save the city money and appreciate their job.

Aren't we all tired of these dead beat drug users!

Mahoning Dems endorse candidates

Great for Mike "Mikey" Ray and the 4th ward!

"Brian J. Pryjma, challenger in the 4th Ward, did not seek the party’s endorsement, and Anthony R. Protopapa, challenger in the 1st Ward, did not attend the endorsement meeting Sunday and, therefore, could not be considered."

These two have proven to waste everyones time (by not showing up) and rightly so did not get endorsed.

Tony Fire, 1st Ward, and Robert D. Carcelli III, 4th Ward, cared enough to at least show up for the Democratic endorsement dog and pony show and deserve endorsement. Congratulations!

Kevin E.J. Salata, Anthony J. Catale, Michael R. Rapovy, Paul Drennen, and Sylvester Patton showed up and fired off their speeches regardless of the Democratic party not endorsing any 5th ward candidate so it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Jerome Mcnally, Moses H. Mahdee, and William Dallas didn't show up and so far has wasted everyone's time and should just withdrawl from this race.

Thank God I slept through all this.

Avoid 7-11 Connector for the time being

If state takes over the maintenance, wouldn't Youngstown lose a few miles of state funding and potential loss of justification of a job or two?

I understand your viewpoint of safety, just asking a question.

I was fired because I am white, Youngstown worker alleges in lawsuit

Now before the court is case # S-T-U-P-I-D. All ye here and present for sentencing please stand.

Robert Kauffman you have been found guilty of behavior becoming stupidity, neglect, and of being stupid while being white.

This court sentences you to a FEMA camp, either in Atlanta Georgia or somewhere below the Denver Colorado Airport for genetic experimentation, and to be incarcerated for not less than 35 years and no more than 75 years.

Additionally, I find that you have brought to light a high base salary for a city street department apparently filled with drugs and unbecoming behavior.

I order the city street department to slash starting wages to $23,000.00 per year with a cap of $28,000.00 per year, effective immediately.

Case closed.

Next case please.

Where are the challengers?

"And in this heavily Democratic city, only one Republican decided to be a sacrificial lamb..."
-HAHA pretty funny.

"There’s also the option to not endorse."
-Not to endorse is unacceptable, but then again children enjoy playing childish games and you know what they say about a happy family..."

"But based on the lack of candidates in the other wards, it’s surprising there are seven challengers in the May primary to Councilman Paul Drennen, D-5th.

Among them are former Councilmen Michael R. Rapovy and Jerome McNally; Anthony J. Catale, a school board member; and ex-state Rep. Sylvester D. Patton."

-HAHA now that's funny. A former councilman whom was threatened with arrest for pulling fire alarms and another whom filed personal bancruptcy in office wants to manage our citys' multi million dollar budget and yet another whom will soon lose his political country club membership wants more milk for himself.

You fifth warders are in trouble. Suddenly, the east side ain't lookin' too bad.

Kasich was open about his agenda

GREAT STORY VINDY!

I tell folks the same thing about obama -

- he wrote 2 books basically stating he would socialize the states.
- joe the plumber incident obama stated he wanted to spread the wealth.

And people drove their foreign cars to the polls and voted for him and now they are crying.

Kasich is doing what he said he would do.

"Beneath these branches I once wrote such childish words for you.

But that's OK, there's treasure children always seek to find."

District’s academic consultant suspended

@ carlstaatz:

I agree 100%.

If things were handled years ago and Anthony Catale had brains to actually do his job and get rid of Wendy Webb, then perhaps we would all be ahead of these problems we shouldn't be having now.

And Anthony Catale as I understand it is running for a city council position somewhere? When will Youngstown flush the toilet?!
