SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: Beatitude House will sponsor its 16th Annual Wine Taste and Auction at 5:30 p.m. May 1 at The Embassy, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road, Boardman. The evening, hosted by Jeff Kelly of Oldies 106.1, will feature a gourmet dinner buffet, premium wines by local distributors, a live auction and silent and ticket auctions. New this year is a whiskey tasting from Cleveland Whiskey, Youngstown Vodka, wine and chocolate pairings and a dueling pianos performance. The deadline to make reservations is April 22. SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR: St. Patrick School in Hubbard participated in a day of service March 19 to show appreciation and care for the community. Each grade performed a different service project. The fourth-grade class baked cookies for the city of Hubbard’s safety forces. Above, fourth-grader Nicolette Leonard presented Fire Chief Ron Stanish of the Eagle Joint Fire District with a tray of cookies and a card signed by the students to thank firefighters for their service to the community. At the end of the day, all students met to spring clean the building and church grounds.
