The club donates to the center for Christmas and Thanksgiving to help provide for needy families in Girard. In 2011, the club donated 400 bags of food and IGA gift certificates for Thanksgiving and 600 presents for Christmas to families who qualified.

Trumbull Mobile Meals Inc. was the beneficiary of the generosity of Jacki and Thom Duma, center, of Thom Duma Fine Jewelers at their annual Basket Extravaganza. The jewelers donated a $6,000 diamond and a cubic zirconia for each of the 100 baskets in the silent auction. The winner of the silent auction basket redeemed the zirconia for the diamond at the end of the evening. The Upton Association also sponsors the Women’s Park, the location of a new monument that honors all women. The park is in Warren’s historic district between Kinsman House and City Hall. Bricks are available for purchase at www.uptonhouse.org. There also is a mailbox in the park that holds order forms. Upton House is available for rental and guides offer tours.
