Mary Mahan, left, of Emmanuel Community Care Center in Girard, accepts a check from Bree Quesenberry, Girard Junior Women’s Club president. The club donates to the center for Christmas and Thanksgiving to help provide for needy families in Girard. In 2011, the club donated 400 bags of food and IGA gift certificates for Thanksgiving and 600 presents for Christmas to families who qualified.
