THUMBS UP: Featured at the April 29 meeting of Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County were talks by Barry Silliphant and Linda Hrenko, Kiwanis members from Newton Falls. The two volunteer their time and money to make trips with the Santa Good Will Tours to orphanages, hospitals, schools, special needs groups, and senior citizen homes throughout the world. Silliphant gives a thumbs-up gesture to show his approval of the tours, which are backed by Pioneers, a corporate volunteer organization. It has given him the opportunity to play Santa for the past eight years. The local Kiwanis Club donated money for gifts, which Silliphant and Hrenko distributed to more than 300 children during a trip to Peru in November. Speaker at the May 13 meeting was John Stoll, local FBI agent. Members of Canfield Key Club will be featured at the May 27 meeting. For more information call (330) 538-3041.
