CANFIELD CARDINALS VS. KENSTON BOMBERS

How they got here: Canfield defeated Marlington 35-10 on Nov. 2 at home and Akron East 30-7 on Nov. 9 at Gilcrest Field in Ravenna; Kenston defeated Millersburg West Holmes 48-34 on Nov. 2 and Media Buckeye 40-21 on Nov. 9 at Bedford Bearcat Stadium in Bedford.

The skinny: The Cardinals have won four straight since their only loss, a 12-7 setback at East on Oct. 12. ... Senior RB Mehlyn Clinkscale has a team-best 1,108 yards and 11 touchdowns on 127 carries. QB Max Dawson has 663 yards and eight TDs on 152 carries. Dawson has also passed for 756 yards and nine TDs. He has completed 57 of 104 passes. ... Canfield’s defebse allowed just 218 yards a week ago against Akron East. ... Kenston QB Jon Tomcufcik primarily operates out of the shotgun in a four-wide, no-huddle offense. He has thrown for 2,442 yards and 23 TDs, with just four interceptions. Tomcufcik has been sacked just twice all season. ... RB Jack Porter has rushed for 1,965 yards and 24 TDs. ... Kenston OTs George Sell and Alex Robarge are each 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds. ... The Bombers are in their first regional final since 1995, when Grubich was a senior at rival Chagrin Falls. ... Grubich was the offensive coordinator at Mentor when current Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky was the Cardinals’ star player.

GIRARD INDIANS VS. HUBBARD EAGLES

Coaches: Pat Pearson for Girard; Brian Hoffman for Hubbard.

How they got here: Girard defeated East 34-30 on Nov. 3 at YSU’s Stambaugh Stadium and Perry 42-33 on Nov. 10 in Niles. Hubbard defeated Wintersville Indian Creek 51-21 on Nov. 3 at home and Steubenville 34-16 Nov. 10 at Spartan Stadium in Boardman.

The skinny: The teams met in Week 2, when Hubbard jumped out to a big early lead and withstood a Girard rally for a 48-32 victory. The Indians haven’t lost since. The Eagles’ only defeat came in Week 10, 26-21 against East. ... Girard QB Mark Waid was the Division IV Offensive Player of the Year on the All-Inland District team the last two years. Hubbard LB Lukas Mosora has been the Defensive Player of the Year on the same team the last two seasons.

WARREN JFK EAGLES VS. CUYAHOGA HTS. REDSKINS

What: Division VII, Region 25

When & where: 7 p.m., Boliantz Stadium, Macedonia.

Records: Warren JFK 7-5; Cuyahoga Heights 10-2

How they got here: Warren JFK defeated Windham 35-12 on Nov. 3 in Windham and Ashland Mapleton 42-34 on Nov. 10 at Lowell Klinefelter Stadium in Canton; Cuyahoga Heights defeated Tuscarawas Central Catholkic 42-13 on Nov. 3 at home and East Canton 21-6 on Nov. 10 at Hudson Memorial Stadium in Hudson.

The skinny: The Eagles fell to the Redskins 40-12 in a first-round playoff game last season. ... Two years ago, Warren JFK ran the table in Division VII and eventually won a state championship under Bayuk. Cuyahoga Heights lost in the Division VI title game that same season. ... The Redskins have at least reached the state semifinals every season since 2015. ... Warren JFK started 1-4 this season, but has gone 6-1 since. ... Cuyahoga Heights’ most recent loss came against perennial Division VI power Kirtland, 42-6 on the road in Week 6. The Redskins also lost at Brookfield 46-17 in Week 3.
