Cardinal Mooney 45, St. Joseph (Canada) 22

Youngstown

Jason Santisi scored four touchdowns to lead Cardinal Mooney.

Santisi ran for 181 yards. Mooney (1-0) lead 12-7 after the first quarter but Santisi scored two rushing TDs and returned a kickoff 90 yards.

Mooney quarterback John Murphy threw for 85 yards.

Canfield 21, Louisville 14

CANFIELD

Canfield quarterback Max Dawson scored three times, including a 10-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Dawson’s run put the Cardinals (1-0) up 21-7. The Cardinals’ quarterback ran for 120 yards and threw for 109 yards and two TDs.

Matt Zaremski caught six passes for 58 yards and both of Dawson’s touchdowns passes.

Austintown Fitch 20, Hudson 9

HUDSON

The Falcons (1-0) beat the Explorers on the road in the seaosn opener for both teams.

No game details or statistics were reported.

Canton McKinley 28, Warren Harding 14

WARREN

Alijah Curtis three two TD passes, ran for another and the Bulldogs (1-0) raced to a 28-0 halftime lead and held on to win their season opener at Mollenkopf Stadium.

Curtis’ 1-yard TD run gave Canton McKinley the lead less than a minute into the game. Jamal Price added an 11-yard TD run just over four minutes into the game to make it 14-0.

Curtis (12 of 18, 182 yards) then threw TD passes of 68 and 20 yards to Khyree Woody in the second quarter.

The Raiders (0-1) got two Elijah Taylor TD passes in a span of 1:06 late in the third quarter. Taylor threw a 37-yarder scoring pass to Chris Chew and a 24-yarder to Jakari Salter.

Kayron Adams ran for 170 yards for Harding.

Hubbard 63, Alliance 13

HUBBARD

Hubbard quarterback Davion Daniels threw for two scores and ran for a 47-yard TD.

Rafael Morales ran for 129 yards and two TDs on 16 carries and Lukas Mosora caught a 47-yard TD pass for the Eagles (1-0).

Mosora also scored on defense after recovering a fumble and returning it 45 yards.

LaBrae 41, Conneaut 0

LEAVITTSBURG

Kent Wolford passed for 269 yards and three TDs to lead the Vikings (1-0).

Wolford connected with Walt Allie for TDs covering 96 and 42 yards. He also hit Tyler Stephens for a 31-yard pass.

Conneaut rushed for -15 yards.

McDonald 48, Brookfield 14

BROOKFIELD

Alex Cintron rushed for 206 yards and Josh Celli 153 for the Blue Devils (1-0). Cintron scored five TDs covering 18, 23, 10, 1, and 12 yards.

Celli scored on a 17-yard run and passed for 58 yards.

For the Warriors (0-1), Dionte Colwell rushed for 82 yards and scored a 3-yard TD. Hayden Gibson scored the other TD on a 7-yard run and passed for 114 yards.

Southington 10, Jackson-Milton 7

SOUTHINGTON

Trystan Mollohan threw a 23-yard TD pass to Kyle Caracanas and Ryan Johnston’s 32-yard field goal broke a 7-7 tie in the third quarter as the Wildcats (1-0) won their season opener.

The Blue Jays’ TD came on Bryce Davis’ 40-yard catch from Dyllen Gibbs.

Leetonia 21, Lowellville 14

LOWELLVILLE

Roman Ferry scored two TDs and rushed for 72 yards for the Bears (1-0).

For the Rockets (0-1), Matt Hvisdak threw TD passes to Dylan Durkin and Micah Mamula Zarlingo.

Lisbon 41, Malvern 6

LISBON

Justin Sweeney rushed for 139 yards and a TD for the Blue Devils (1-0). Logan Bell rushed for 56 yards and passed for 90. He scored two TDs.

Ryan McCullough scored two 25-yard TDs.

Salem 38, East Palestine 21

EAST PALESTINE

Turner Johnson rushed for 136 yards and passed for 140 yards for the Quakers (1-0). Niko Walter caught four passes for 92 yards.

For the Bulldogs (0-1), Parker Sherry passed for 173 yards and rushed for 131 yards.

West Branch 48, Crestview 35

BELOIT

Brock Hillyer completed seven passes or 144 yards and two TDs for the Warriors (1-0). Hillyer also ran for 51 yards and a score on nine carries.

Thomas Caserta ran for a game-high 150 yards and a TD and Jesse Rastetter ran for two TDs for West Branch.

Stephen Barr went 6 for 11 for 88 passing yards and a TD for Crestview (0-1). He also ran for 105 yards and a score.

Pymatuning Valley 36, Mineral Ridge 34, OT

MINERAL RIDGE

Logan Drnek passed for five TDs, including the game-winning score in overtime as the Lakers beat the Rams.

Dakota Edwards threw two TD passes and ran for another for Mineral Ridge (0-1).

The Rams scored in OT when Jacob Lesko found the end zone on a lateral, but Mineral Ridge’s two-point conversion try failed.

Southern 39, Richmond Edison 13

SALINEVILLE

Jayce Sloan threw for 236 yards and four TDs, three of them to Cam Grodhaus, as the Indians (1-0) won their season opener. Sloan completed 10 of 14 passes.

Grodhaus caught nine passes for 251 yards, including TDs of 27, 25 and 20 yards. Jayce Sloan also threw a 7-yard TD pass to Brad Sloan.

Dylan Milhoan ran for a 7-yard TD and River Pappas had a 1-yard TD for Southern.
