Player fact: Waid went 14 of 27 with 261 passing yards and three touchdowns during the Indians’ 47-24 victory against Niles to start the year at 1-0. The senior quarterback also rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Last Friday’s win avenges last year’s season opener, where the Indians lost, 47-26, to the Red Dragons.

Player fact: Huff intercepted West Branch’s T.J. DeShields twice, returning one for 96 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter during the Rebels’ 41-20 win over the Warriors to open the season. He also did well in the other two phases in the game, catching six passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns and returning a kickoff 87 yards for another touchdown.
