Canfield, S. Range still atop regions

Another week and another set of Ohio High School Athletic Association football computer ratings have unbeaten Canfield and South Range on top of their regions and Poland moving up in its own.

Canfield (6-0, 17.93) is atop Divsion III, Region 9 for the third consecutive week. Canfield is coming off a 17-7 win over Boardman on Friday and will host Niles this week.

Poland (6-0, 11.5) moved up to third in Division IV, Region 13 after being fourth last week. The Bulldogs beat rival Struthers last week and will go on the road to face East on Friday.

South Range (6-0, 12.91) has been the top team in Division V, Region 17 for the first three weeks of ratings. The Raiders will host Sharon this week.

Boardman (3-3, 8.2) is tied with Pataskala Licking Heights for seventh place in Division II, Region 7. The Spartans have lost three straight to Steubenville, Cardinal Mooney and Canfield. Boardman will play at Warren Harding this week.

Lakeview (5-1, 9.15) is ranked fourth behind Poland in Division IV, Region 13. has won five straight games, including a 31-0 win over Jefferson Area. The Bulldogs visit Ashtabula Edgewood this week.

Girard (6-0, 8.43) is a couple spots behind in sixth place. The Indians beat Campbell 45-0 on the road and will host Brookfield this weekend.

Beaver Local (5-1, 8.03) is ranked seventh following a 28-26 win at Bellaire. Cardinal Mooney moved up to eighth in Region 13 after winning back-to-back weeks. The Cardinals will travel to Akron Buchtel on Saturday. Salem (4-2, 6.7) and Struthers (4-2, 6.41) are ninth and tenth. Salem will play at Canfield, and Struthers will host Campbell.

Western Reserve (5-1, 8.56) is sixth in Division VI, Region 21. The Blue Devils have won four straight, including a 41-0 win over Lowellville. Western Reserve will travel to Springfield on Friday. Columbiana (4-2, 7.3) is in eighth, and ahead of McDonald and Liberty for the final playoff spot in the region. The Clippers beat Toronto 42-7 on the road and will host Wellsville this week.

Lisbon and Valley Christian come in at fourth and fifth in Division VII, Region 25. Lisbon (5-1, 6.28) beat Leetonia 41-0 on Friday and will travel to Toronto this week. Valley Christian (3-3, 6.25) beat Garfield Heights 37-34 last week and has won three of its last four games. Valley Christian will travel to Rootstown on Friday. Warren JFK is ranked eighth in Region 25 after a loss at Trinity last week.

LaBrae (3-3, 4.15) is 11th in Division V, Region 17. The Vikings will host Newton Falls on Friday.
