Steubenville 49, Salem 14

STEUBENVILLE

The Big Red (11-0) scored 42 unanswered points in the first half. Jacob Bernard ran for 132 yards and two TDs on 15 carries. Steubenville quarterback Javon Davis was 3 of 9 passing for 27 yards. Davis also ran for 73 yards, including a 53-yard TD run. The Quakers (7-4) were held to four rushing yards on 12 attempts. Salem QB Mitch Davidson was held to 109 yards on 8 of 29 passing. Steubenville will play Cardinal Mooney in the second round of the playoffs next week.

Kirtland 40, Liberty 13

KIRTLAND

Kirtland (11-0) scored 34 unanswered points in the first half of a Division VI regional quarterfinal. Kirtland’s Joey Torok ran for 105 yards on 11 attempts. The Hornets ran for 333 yards and held Liberty (8-3) to 161. Liberty QB Dra Rushton was 5 of 14 for 49 yards. Rushton ran for 69 yards and a TD on 18 carries. Brian Maddox ran for 89 yards on 14 carries. Kirtland quarterback Dylan Fulco threw for 56 yards, including a 30-yard TD pass to Brandon Samsa. Kirtland will meet Mogadore in a regional semifinal next week. The Wildcats beat East Palestine, 39-20.

Norwayne 22, Western Reserve 13

CRESTON

The Bobcats (10-1) ran for 379 yards and two touchdowns, including 302 yards by Weston Garman. Western Reserve QB Dominic Velasquez threw for 124 yards on 15 of 28 passing. Jack Cappabianca ran for 15 yards but scored both touchdowns for the Blue Devils. Adam Gatrell lead Western Reserve (7-4) with 72 yards. Kade Hilles had five catches for 42 yards. Norwayne will meet top-seeded Rootstown in a regional semifinal next week. The Rovers beat Columbiana, 34-0.

ROOTSTOWN

The top-seeded Rovers (11-0) had their way with the Clippers (7-4) in a regional quarterfinal Friday night. Game details were not reported.

Windham 32, Lisbon 13

WINDHAM

Cameron Summers ran for 93 yards and a touchdown for Lisbon (6-5). Justin Sweeney added seven catches for 94 yards, despite the Blue Devils coming up short. Windham (9-2) ran for 429 yards as a team led by Angle Mason (197 yards) and Phillip Maiorca (170) and three TDs. Windham will meet top-seeded Dalton in a regional semifinal next week.

Dalton 60, Mathews 13

DALTON

The top-seeded Bulldogs (11-0) made short work of the Mustangs (6-5) by storming to a 34-0 halftime lead in a Division VII, Region 25 quarterfinal. Mathews got its only scores in the fourth after Dalton built a 54-0 lead. No game details for were reported. Dalton will meet Windham in a regional semifinal next week. The Bombers beat Lisbon, 32-13.

Cuyahoga Heights 40, Warren JFK 12

CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS

JFK’s defense of last year’s state title came to an end Friday night. The Eagles (4-7) got into the playoffs despite a losing record. Jordan Edmondson ran for 111 yards and a touchdown to lead JFK. Isaac Hadley added 62 yards and Greg Valent threw a TD pass to Thomas Yanovich. Cuyahoga Heights (9-1), last year’s Division VI state runner-up, was led by Lucas DaOrazio, who ran for 152 yards and scored two TDs. Ryan Polk added 91 yards, including a 70 yard TD run. The Redskins will play East Canton in a regional semifinal next week.
