AUSTINTOWN

The Falcons got on the board early with Bryce Warmouth returning a blocked punt for a touchdown and Randy Smith rushing for a score in the first quarter. Fitch ran for 244 yards as opposed to seven passing yards. Jakari Lumsden ran for 143 yards and a touchdown as the top back for Fitch.

Green 37 Howland 20

HOWLAND

The Tigers couldn’t recover after getting blanked in the first half. Isom Julian and Victor Williams each rushed for a touchdown and Stephen Baugh returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Samari Dean went 5-for-10 for 108 passing yards for the Tigers.

Warren Harding 40 Cleveland Heights 6

WARREN

Lynn Bowden returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown and threw three TD passes — two to Marlin Richardson — as the Raiders (2-0) won again in convincing fashion.

Richardson’s TD receptions covered 18 and 45 yards and Bowden also threw a 5-yard TD pass to Jauton Lee.

Desmen Douglas ran 38 yards for a TD for Harding, which opened the season with a 35-0 win over East Cleveland Shaw.

Juvar King also returned a fumble 42 yards for a score. Cleveland Heights (0-2) has been outscored 82-12 in losses to Cardinal Mooney and Harding.

Canfield 45 Alliance 21

ALLIANCE

Paul Brienz ran for 129 yards and scored five touchdowns — four on the ground — as the Cardinals (1-1) bounced back from a season-opening loss to Louisville by dominating the Aviators.

Brienz scored on runs of 1, 24, 1 and 2 yards and caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jake Cummings.

Paul French also caught a 28-yard TD pass from Cummings and the Canfield QB ran for a 3-yard TD.

The Cardinals ran 71 times for 407 yards and collected 25 first downs. Cummings ran for 138 yards on 19 carries.

Alliance quarterback Howard Frazier threw TD passes of 80 yards to Devontay Nickson and 76 yards to D.J. Hancock.

Struthers 42 Toledo Scott 14

STRUTHERS

Regal Reese led the Wildcats in rushing with 143 yards two touchdowns on 17 carries.

Nate Richards also had a nice game on the ground with 112 yards and two scores.

Perrion Jones ran for a touchdown and Marquez Brawse completed a touchdown pass to Martez Johnson for Toledo Scott.

Campbell 32 CVCA 14

CAMPBELL

Yianni Koullias recorded 218 yards on 23 carries and four scores and also caught a touchdown from Darion Jones to propel the Red Devils .

For CVCA, Ray Butler had 95 rushing yards and 129 receiving yards with two TDs.

Liberty 28 Lakeview 21

LIBERTY

Dra Rushton had two rushing touchdowns with 191 total yards. Quaishon Campbell had a 60 yard run for a score in the third quarter. Lakeview went up 14-0 early on a pair of Tony Crish scores but couldn’t hold the lead in the 4th quarter.

Warren JFK 17 LaBrae 0

LEAVITTSBURG

The Eagles (2-0) still have not allowed a point this season after a second consecutive shutout.

They completely shut down the Vikings, holding LaBrae to just three first downs and 46 total yards. Evan Boyd and Jacob Coates ran for touchdowns and Justin Bofenkamp kicked a 38-yard field goal for Warren JFK, which dominated Keystone, Pa., 55-0 in Week 1.

Boyd ran for 60 yards on 22 carries, including a 3-yard TD in the second quartter. Bofenkamp’s field goal made it 10-0 at halftime and Coates added a 1-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Champion 20 Conneaut 14

CONNEAUT

Brandon Allen threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Davis with 13 seconds to play to break a tie and give the Golden Flashes their second straight victory to open the season.

They beat Waterloo 42-27 in Week 1. Allen also ran for a 5-yard touchdown against the Spartans (0-2) and Noah Bayus added a 60-yard TD run for the Golden Flashes (2-0).

Allen ran for 50 yards on 18 carries and was 13 of 31 for 150 yards passing. Bayus’ TD was his lone carry of the game, but he caught eight passes for 69 yards.

Lisbon 46, Mineral Ridge 14

MINERAL RIDGE

Jason Thompson ran for 61 yards and two scores on nine carries for the Rams.

Colin Sweeney had scores on the ground and through the air connecting with Seth Stokes.

Michael McLean had 46 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jarred Miller also scored on the ground for Mineral Ridge.

McDonald 20 Springfield 10

MCDONALD

Joe Santangelo scored the Tigers’ lone touchdown in the third quarter.

No stats were reported for McDonald.

Brookfield 53 Valley Christian 19

BROOKFIELD

Alex Clark scored four touchdowns to lead the Warriors (1-1). His scores covered 9, 2, 9 and 3 yards.

Zavier Bailey scored on a 3-yard run and returned a kickoff 85 yards.

For the Eagles, Domonhic Jennings passed for 199 yards by completing 10 of 29 attempts. He also scored a touchdown on a 3-yard run.

West Branch 47 Beaver Local 7

T.J. DeShields threw for three scores on 14 completions with 222 yards, all three of those scores went to Brett Butcher.

Rob Lozier hadd 110 rushing yards and a score for West Branch. Michael Clendenning rushed for 116 yards and a score for Beaver Local.

Salem 40 United 14

HANOVERTON

United led 14-7 but exploded in the second half.

Mitch Davidson completed 19 passes for 318 yards and Jake Humeniuk hauled in 10 of those catches for 194 yards and two TDs.

Colton Graham ran for 100 yards for United.

Newton Falls 21 Jackson-Milton 0

NORTH JACKSON

Newton Falls got off the winless streak behind Bill Wright’s three second-half touchdowns. Wright ended up with 17 carries for 212 yards. The Tiger defense also picked off three Blue Jay passes in the shutout.
