VOLLEYBALL DIVISION II

Hubbard 25-25-25, Howland 14-20-21

JEFFERSON

Hubbard (16-7) advanced to the Division II Jefferson district semi-final in a straight set victory over Howland(15-9). Leading the way for the Eagles was Kristen Fahndrich with 19 digs, 12 points, and two aces. Addy Jarvis had 16 kills, Adria Powell had 14 along with 12 digs and two blocks, and Emily Krinos had 27 assists. Kathryn Summerfield had 16 assists for Howland, and Cassie Murcko had 12 kills and six blocks.

Lake Catholic 25-25-25, Girard 9-15-10

JEFFERSON

Lake Catholic (23-0) defeated Girard (12-12) in straight sets. Melanie Bakes had 11 digs and nine assists for the Indians. Makayla Trebella added nine digs.

Salem 25-25-22-25, Poland 13-19-25-12

BELOIT

Jillian Penman had 14 digs and four aces for Poland. Jen Eich had 19 assists.

DIVISION III

Crestview 25-25-25, Campbell 8-4-4

SALEM

Crestview (22-2) advanced in straight sets over Campbell (1-22) in Division III Salem district play. Emily Emch had 12 kills and four aces and Breanna Auer added 11 kills. Olivia Stank led the Rebels with 13 points while Kasey Landsberger had 12. Anna Gorby added 21 assists.

Newton Falls 25-25-25, LaBrae 21-19-16

LEAVITTSBURG

Newton Falls (23-1) won in straight sets over LaBrae. Autumn Hutson had 21 digs, Elizabeth Boone tallied 28 assists, and Kayla Barreca had 17 kills and eight digs for the Tigers. Izzy Kline chipped in 12 kills and three blocks.

DIVISION IV

Bristol 25-25-22-28, Badger 17-14-25-26

CORTLAND

Autumn Miller had 18 assists for Bristol (16-7) in a four set victory. Kayla Adams served 15 times and had four aces for the Panthers and Kaylie Rowland had 18 digs. Hailee Elza added 13 kills.

Lordstown 25-25-25, Newbury 12-21-13

CORTLAND

Caleigh Hamby had nine kills, four assists, four blocks, and four digs for Newbury (3-19). Lordstown (21-1) did not provide statistics.

Western Reserve 25-25-25, East Canton 18-19-21

COLUMBIANA

Lainie Grope and Alexis Hughes each had 11 kills in a sectional-final win in three sets. Hannah Mayberry collected 13 digs.

St. Thomas Aquinas 25-25-25, Heartland Christian 16-11-22

COLUMBIANA

Bonnie Flynn had 26 kills to lead all scorers but Heartland Christian still lost in straight sets in a sectional final. Flynn also had 36 digs. Hannah Brandenstein added 36 assists and Joanna Bell racked up 19 digs.

DIVISION I

Canfield 5, Louisville 0

CANFIELD

Anita Mancini scored four goals and assisted a goal by India Thakar for Canfield. Goalie Lauren Slanker had nine saves.

Fitch 5, Boardman 0

AUSTINTOWN

Tiffany Aliberti and Camryn Constance each scored twice for Fitch and Lauren Dolak chipped in another goal. Jackie Muccio, Jordan Evans, Kelsey Garland and Abby Knight each provided one assist. Megan Bartley made one save for the Falcons.

DIVISION II

Hubbard 2, Poland 0

AUSTINTOWN

Marissa Grande and Emma Wukelich each scored a goal for Hubbard. Alexis Corbin made three saves for the Eagles.

Lakeview 3, Salem 1

CORTLAND

Rachel Braunegg, Bella Kakoui and Reagan Rosenberger all scored for the Bulldogs in a sectional final. Maddy Clark had two assists in the win. Zoey Moore scored for Salem.

Canton Central Catholic 6, Springfield 1

NEW MIDDLETOWN

McKenna Waltenbaugh and Gabby Vega scored twice for Canton Central Catholic and Katie Perretta and Megan McCue each scored once. Jane Castro had the lone goal for Springfield. Lex Slike made five saves for Springfield and Catherine Burke had 11.

DIVISION III

Ursuline 5, Crestview 4

YOUNGSTOWN

The game was tied at the half, but Ursuline opened the second half with three goals in seven minutes. The Irish’s Taylor Tomlinson and Crestview’s Jillian Beard traded goals in the first half. During the Ursuline outburst, Tomlinson scored her second goal followed by two goals from Adi Quattro. The Rebels’ Kassie Seabolt responded with a goal, but Ursuline’s Gigi Hitchcock came back with the deciding goal. Beard and Kassity Miller scored within three minutes of each other to bring Crestview within one, but got no closer. Jordyn Keneally made six saves for the Irish and Taylor Mellington had seven for the Rebels.

Cardinal Mooney 15, Lake Center Christian 1

YOUNGSTOWN

Elizabeth Philibin led the way for Mooney with five goals and two assists. Breanna Evans had three goals and two assists, and Alexis Saunders had two goals and an assist for the Cardinals. Five other Cardinals had a goal each. Jolie Madigan had the only goal for Lake Center Christian.

Newton Falls 5, Lordstown 1

NEWTON FALLS

Four different Tigers found the net in a Kent district matchup. Tara Backherms scored twice, and Makenna Willyard, Hannah Harnichar, and LeighAnn Knorzer each scored for Newton Falls. Chase Weiland scored the lone goal for Lordstown.
