2 OVI checkpoints on US 422 tonight

SOUTHINGTON

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will conduct two OVI checkpoints on US Route 422 tonight.

The first one will be from 8-10 p.m. on in Girard, in conjunction with Girard police.

The second one will be from 10 p.m. to midnight in Warren, in conjunction with Warren police.

OVI checkpoints, funded by federal grant funds, are to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoints are in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.

Motorists planning to drink alcohol should have a designated driver or make other travel arrangements.
