BRUNSWICK
Carlos Herriott, Jaylon Sanders, and Ben Nishimura rushed 26 times for 173 of Fitch’s yards, and Nishimura completed five passes for 38 yards.
In the fourth quarter, Brunswick lost 15 yards for a safety, finalizing Fitch’s first victory of the season.
Nick Horton completed six passes for 96 yards and rushed 24 times for 57 yards and one TD, but the Blue Devils never took the lead over the Falcons.
Cle. Benedictine 24, Ursuline 14
YOUNGSTOWN
Deion Edwards rushed 13 times for 49 yards and a touchdown and Anise Algahmee threw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Daylen Harris to lead Ursuline (1-1), which cut the deficit to 7 midway through the third quarter but could get no closer.
Dontez Rash rushed 20 times for 157 yards for Benedictine (2-0), which won last year’s Division IV state championship.
Green 30, Howland 22
GREEN TOWNSHIP
Tyriq Ellis ran 31 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns for Howland (1-1), while Chris Julian added a 1-yard TD run and Jake Lester threw for 71 yards.
Tanner Montgomery threw for 181 yards and a TD for Green (1-1), while Jeremy McAleese carried 25 times for 87 yards and two TDs and returned a kickoff 97 yards for another score.
Lakeview 35, Liberty 0
CORTLAND
John Estlack carried eight times for 90 yards and three touchdowns to lead Lakeview (2-0). Angelo Marino added 51 yards on nine carries and also completed 7 of 15 passes for 161 yards and a TD. Sean Rein caught three of those passes for 75 yards and Liam Painter had two interceptions.
Branden Smith led Liberty (0-2) with 29 yards rushing on 15 carries.
Sharon 35, Struthers 27
SHARON, PA.
A.J. Musolino and Regal Reese each scored two touchdowns for the Wildcats (1-1). Musolino’s scores covered 8 and 18 yards while Reese’s were 23 and six.
Musolino passes for 92 yards by completing 8 of 15 passes. Reese rushed for 172 yards on 18 carries and caught three passes for 30 yards.
The Tigers are 1-0.
Conneaut 34, Champion 9
CHAMPION
Tysen Hunt completed 12 of 18 passes for 246 yards and three TDs, connecting with Alex Gerdes eight times for 213 yards and two TDs, to lead Conneaut (1-1).
Brandon Allen scored on a 6-yard TD run to lead Champion (1-1) and Eric Fenstermaker carried 15 times for 59 yards.
Crestview 57, Columbiana 29
COLUMBIANA
Zack Hicks rushed 26 times for 225 yards and five touchdowns to lead Crestview, which outscored Columbiana 34-7 in the second half.
Spencer DeSalvo rushed 20 times for 145 yards and two TDs for the Rebels (2-0), who held a 477-122 edge on the ground.
Mitch Davidson completed 15 of 29 passes for 240 yards and two TDs to help lead Columbiana (1-1).
Jackson-Milton 34, Newton Falls 20
NEWTON FALLS
Josh Walters completed 7 of 14 passes for 152 yards and two interceptions for the Tigers (0-2). Walters also carried 28 times for 172 yards and a TD and Colton Hunt carried five times for 14 yards and two TDs.
Jackson-Milton statistics were not reported.
South Range 35, Campbell 7
CAMPBELL
South Range’s Ethan Dominguez rushed eight times for a total of 149 yards and one touchdown to help lead the Raiders (1-1).
In the second quarter, Ray Janecko recovered a fumble and returned it for 30 yards.
Brandon Liggens prevented the Raiders from shutting out the Red Devils (0-2) with a 54-yard run for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Lisbon 34, Mineral Ridge 0
LISBON
Lisbon’s Josh Liberati completed 10 passes for 202 yards; three of those passes were caught by Colin Sweeney for 100 yards.
Alex Kooyman rushed 12 times for 95 yards to lead Mineral Ridge. Danny Shultz rushed 11 times for 74 yards, assisted by Cameron Smith who rushed for 33 yards.
Salem 23, United 13
SALEM
Matt Weingart accounted for two touchdowns in the final six minutes — one through the air and another on the ground — to rally Salem.
Weingart completed 8 of 15 passes for 73 yards and a 25-yard TD with 5:30 left that gave the Quakers a 16-13 lead. Weingart sealed it with a 4-yard run with 2:11. Kade Byland led the Quakers with 14 carries for 86 yards and Cooper Bezeredi carried 15 times for 82 yards.
Tyler Powers caught four passes for 67 yards and a TD and ran 11 times for 44 yards and another score for United (1-1).
Windham 21, Lowellville 13
LOWELLVILLE
Myron Anderson carried 15 times for 103 yards and a TD and AJ Daltorio carried 11 times for 56 yards and a TD to lead Lowellville (0-2).
Anderson also completed 2 of 7 passes for 20 yards.
After Windham closed out the scoring with 5:51 left, Lowellville drove inside the Bombers’ 40 but could get no closer.
West Branch 33, Beaver Local 18
LISBON
West Branch’s Trae Hillyer carried the ball 13 times for 109 yards and 2 TDs.
Brett Butcher, Rob Lozier, Austin Smith, and Hillyer combined to catch 15 passes for 182 yards from TJ DeShields, bringing West Branch’s record to 1-1.
Robbie Johnston carried the ball 19 times for 129 yards and caught two passes for 30 yards to lead the Beavers.
Torey Calio carried the ball for 44 yards and Dustin Martsoif carried the ball for 55 yards for the Beavers.
Trevore McLaughlin threw six passes for 45 yards.
Mathews 43, Leetonia 0
VIENNA
Bryan Leipply ran for 177 yards and three touchdowns and Dillon Canter threw a touchdown pass as the Mustangs (2-0) routed the Bears (0-2).
Leetonia was shut out for the second straight week.
Leipply ran for touchdowns of 5, 1 and 27 yards among his 15 carries.
Cameron Bagaglia ran for a 1-yard TD and Noah Shreves ran for a 6-yard score and added a two-point conversion run. Canter threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Robbie Helmick.
