East Palestine fell behind 21-0 in the third quarter, which proved to be too large of a hole for the Bulldogs to climb out of as their season came to an end. Sandy Valley’s Nelson Mozden — who finished with 122 rushing yards — started the game with an 85-yard TD run. He then followed with 19- and 29-yard TD passes to Jacob Wagner as Mozden racked up 276 passing yards (21 of 36). East Palestine’s two scores came through the air from freshman QB Parker Sherry — a 10-yard pass to Josh Pickett and a 19-yard pass to Ryan Ross. Sherry finished 19 of 30 with 186 yards and two interceptions.

The Mustangs struck first against the Red Knights with a touchdown by Bryan Leipply on a pass from Dillon Canter in the first quarter, but that would be their only score of the game. For the Mustangs, Leipply rushed 22 times for 132 yards, and Canter completed five passes for 44 yards. Noah Shreves also caught four passes for 32 yards. Five of Toronto’s touchdowns came on rushes from Mike Tice, Danny Zdinak (2), and Drew Lowery (2). Ty West also caught three passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
