Mahoning Valley teams aren’t the only ones who have been impressed with Hubbard’s football team through the first three weeks.

The Eagles (3-0), who have outscored Lakeview, Girard and Akron Kenmore 142-21, debuted at No. 2 in Division II in the inaugural Associated Press football poll, released Monday.

Hubbard got five first-place votes to finish with 108 points, while first-place Trotwood-Madison earned eight first-place votes and finished with 148 points.

Poland (3-0) is ninth in Division III.

Cardinal Mooney (2-1) is 10th in Division IV, while LaBrae (3-0) is 19th in Division V and Ursuline (1-2) is 21st.

McDonald (3-0) is 11th in Division VI, while Western Reserve (3-0) is ranked third in Division VII. The Blue Devils earned two first-place votes and have 118 points, just behind Glouster Trimble (119).

State-power Maria Stein Marion Local is ranked first in Division VII with 17 first-place votes and 198 points.

Cincinnati Moeller is ranked first in Division I, Massillon Washington holds the top spot in Division II, Clarksville Clinton-Massie is first in Division IV, Coldwater is No. 1 in Division V and Kirtland is tops in Division VI.

The list is voted on by a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters. The poll runs through Week 10 of the regular season.
