Unbeaten Hubbard remains No. 1 in AP poll

The Hubbard High football team keeps rolling up wins — and votes.
The Eagles (6-0) remained the top-ranked team in Division III for the third straight week, picking up two more first-place votes in the latest Associated Press poll.
Hubbard earned 16 of the 24 first-place votes to finish with 227 points, well ahead of second-place Athens (four first-place votes, 184 total).
Fitch (5-1) moved up to 11th in Division I after Friday’s win over Massillon, which was previously ranked No. 1 in Division II.
In Division IV, Cardinal Mooney (4-2) fell from sixth to eighth after last week’s 34-6 loss to Division I power Lakewood St. Edward.
Liberty (5-1) made its first appearance in the Division V poll, debuting at No. 13 following five straight wins. Ursuline is 14th after three straight victories.
In Division VI, McDonald picked up one first-place vote and moved into the eighth spot after knocking off previously-unbeaten Western Reserve, which fell to seventh in Division VII.
