Player fact: The senior running back rushed for 286 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries in a 45-14 victory over the Tallmadge Blue Devils in the first round of the Division III playoffs.

Big win: “It was pretty huge for us. We came together as a family and played hard as a team.”

Good start: “We came out and we were ready. We didn’t come out like we did two weeks ago [against Struthers]. We prepared well.”

Breaking records: “It means a lot. But I have to keep everything inside and stay humble. I want to just have a good season with my family.”

Playing Aurora: “We have to focus just like we would for any other week. But we can never underestimate any team and we need to come out ready.

Important factor: “It starts up front. The main thing is we have to play smart, relaxed and fast. We also just have to be under control and come out and play ready.”

Motivation: “Being able to have an opportunity to play on the field. It’s always a fun thing being here.”

Lawrence Harrington

Team: Austintown Fitch

Player fact: The sophomore outside linebacker had two sacks in a 15-3 win over the Wadsworth Grizzlies in the first round of the Division I playoffs.

Big win: “It felt amzing. We came out and practiced hard all week and prepared [for the win].”

Defensive mindset: “We were just on our A-game. We knew what we had to do and how to stop the run. He [Daniel Weinerman]) was a really good running back and we were successful with it.”

Getting two sacks: “It was amazing. It was nice hitting the quarterback a couple of times.”

Only a sophomore: “I try not to act like a sophomore. I just want to be like the rest of the guys.”

Playing with older brother Joey: “I thank God for the chance to play with him in his last year.”

Westerville Central: “They are a good all-around team. We just have to have a good week of practice and stay humble.”
