Ursuline, Mooney dominate in Erie

Even without the services of quarterback Chris Durkin, the Ursuline High football team rolled to Friday’s 21-7 victory over Erie Strong Vincent.
The Irish (3-3) jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the strength of two short Vito Penza touchdown runs.
Cardinal Mooney 34, Erie McDowell 14

The Cardinals’ running game produced 270 yards and quarterback Jon Saadey tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another.
Ahead 3-0, Saadey connected with Pat Kelty on an 8-yard pass. Saadey hit Christian Lowery with a 19-yard touchdown pass to extend their lead to 27-0.
The Cardinals (4-3) held McDowell (2-5) to 165 total yards.
North Canton Hoover 21, Boardman 6

Isiah Lyle’s 93-yard scoring run was the bright spot for Boardman (1-6, 1-2 Federal League), pulling within 7-6 midway through the second quarter. The Spartans had just three first downs against the Vikings (2-5, 2-2).

Joe Alessi rushed for 177 yards including a 3-yard touchdown to lead the Raiders (7-0, 4-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Ryan Miller completed 10 of 15 passes for 199 yards, including a 35-yard scoring toss to Alessi. He also scored on a 3-yard run.
The Raiders’ other touchdowns were scored by Zach Baird (46-yard run), Bryce Allen (30 yards) and Billy Goodall (1 yard).
For the Clippers (2-5, 2-2), Mitch Davidson rushed for 104 yards and passed for 94.
United 40, Lisbon 7
LISBON
Mike Martin ran 15 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns and Garrett Beach added 17 carries for 101 yards and two scores for United (3-4, 2-2 ITCL Tier One). Beech also threw for a 29-yard touchdown to Braden Davison.
For Lisbon (2-5, 1-3), Josh Liberati threw for 64 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown to Shawn McKinnon.

Joe Perry rushed for an 80-yard touchdown for the Blue Devils (5-2, 3-1 ITCL Tier Two).
Jake Reckard’s 33-yard scoring run gave the Blue Devils a 20-0 lead. He also scored on a 3-yard run. Reckard totaled 120 yards rushing.
Zack Giesen rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown for Leetonia (2-5, 0-4).
Jackson-Milton 28, Mineral Ridge 21

The Bluejays’ Thomas Gatewood and Jeremy Fitzpatrick connected for three touchdowns. Tyler Shaffer rushed for 118 yards on 25 carries and a score for Jackson-Milton (3-3, 1-2). Jonathan Baker found Ethan Dukes for an 86-yard touchdown for the Rams (4-2, 1-2).

Quarterback Gary Muntean threw for 149 yards and two scores for the Wildcats (5-2, 2-2 All-American Conference National Division). The running back tandem of Luke Witkowski and Mike Sullivan produced two scores before Muntean connected with Marcus Donadio for a 21-yard touchdown and a 19-yarder to Cameron Suchora.
Cody Martsoff scored a 1-yard touchdown for the Beavers (2-5).

Michael Mannella ran for 165 yards and three touchdowns as Lakeview (4-3, 4-0 AAC National) held a 306-142 edge in rushing yards over the Falcons (2-5, 1-4).

Stephan Elash threw two touchdown passes to Corey Hamilton and finished with 208 yards through the air for the Red Devils (2-5, 2-2 AAC National). Mike Cyrus rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Flashes (3-4, 1-3).

The Vikings’ Keevon Harris broke loose for a 69-yard run touchdown early. LaBrae defender Chris Matthews blocked Derek Walton’s punt for a safety. He also scored on a 15-yard run.
LaBrae quarterback Justin Jenkins ran in for a 69-yard score and Jamal Dawkins ran for a 54-yard touchdown.
Brookfield 20, Edgewood 6

Joe Clark ran for 169 yards and three touchdowns in a rematch of a first-round playoff game from last year. Brookfield (5-2) finished with a 277-82 advantage in rushing yards against Edgewood (3-4).

Shawn Kirk ran 12 times for 173 yards and two TDs and Adam Blake added 157 yards and five TDs for Marlington (6-1, 4-0 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).
Haedan Panezott ran for 71 yards and two TDs for Salem (2-5, 0-4), while Mike Popa caught two touchdown passes from Matthew Weingart.
West Branch 24, Carrollton 21

Jacob Jarvis drilled a 25-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining to lift the Warriors (1-6, 1-3 NBC) to their first win. Bryce Butcher passed for 186 yards for West Branch to offset a 346-142 edge on the ground for Carrollton (3-4, 1-3).

Maurice Stiggers ran 17 times for 97 yards and two TDs for Euclid (2-5, 2-2 Lake Erie).
Lamar Carmichael completed 16 of 24 passes for 191 yards and two TDs for Harding (4-3, 3-1).

Quintin Ratliff ran 15 times for 234 yards and three touchdowns for Pymatuning Valley (3-4, 2-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference).
For Mathews (4-3, 1-1), Austin Arnal ran for 125 yards and a TD and Bryan Leipply added 96 yards and two TDs.
Southington 35, Ledgemont 14
SOUTHINGTON
The Wildcats (4-3, 1-1 NAC) scored three touchdowns in the final 5:40 of the game after losing a 14-0 lead to Ledgemont (1-6, 0-2). Austin Casper broke the 14-14 tie returning a fumble 15 yards for a touchdown.
