Western Reserve still 2nd in D-VII

Western Reserve stayed in second place in Division VII and both Hubbard and Poland moved into the top five in Division III in the latest Associated Press football poll.
The Blue Devils (6-0) got three first-place votes to remain behind Maria Stein Marion Local (6-0) in the poll, which is voted on by a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters.
Wellsville (5-1) ranks 10th in Division VII and Lowellville (5-1) is tied for 11th.
In Division III, Hubbard (6-0) moved up three spots, to third, and picked up a second first-place vote. Poland (6-0) is fifth with one first-place vote. The two teams will meet on Oct. 18.
Austintown Fitch (6-0) remained in fourth in Division I behind unbeaten Lakewood St. Edward, Cincinnati Moeller and Cincinnati Colerain.
South Range (6-0) moved up one spot in Division VI, to fifth. The Raiders earned two first-place votes. Springfield is 15th.
Struthers (16th in Division IV) and Crestview (14th in Division V) appear just outside the top 10. No area teams are ranked in Division II.
