Boardman blanks Perry; Howland, Crestview win

Evan Croutch scored on a 1-yard run in Friday’s third quarter as the Boardman High football team snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 7-0 win over Perry.
For the Spartans (1-5, 1-1 Federal League), C.J. Bias gained 82 yards. Boardman’s last victory was against Perry (0-6, 0-2).
Howland 28, Marion Harding 22

Jaquore Marrs carried 26 times for 229 yards as the Tigers built a 28-7 lead and hung on to beat the visiting Presidents (2-4).
Marrs gave Howland a 7-0 lead on a 24-yard run with 5:27 left in the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Presidents’ return man A.J. Jones broke loose for a 75-yard touchdown return.
Marrs put Howland (4-2) back on top with a 15-yard run. Ross Griffin hit Ralph Robinson on a 45-yard touchdown pass before Marrs’ third score, a 35-yard run.
Marion’s Kyle Troutman engineered two fourth-quarter touchdown drives, including a 21-yard pass to L.J. Scott with 5:13 remaining.
Liberty 41, Campbell 15

Lynn Bowden continued his magical freshman season with two long touchdown runs as the Leopards (4-2, 3-0 All-American Conference, National Division) remain undefeated in league play.
With Liberty ahead 7-0 in the first quarter, Bowden broke loose for a 62-yard score. His 46-yard sprint gave Liberty a 22-8 lead.
Liberty quarterback Asim Pleas ran for one touchdown and threw for another. For Campbell (1-5, 1-2), quarterback Stephan Elash threw for 108 yards and ran for a score.
Girard 56, Champion 34
CHAMPION
Nick Cardiero passed for 270 yards, rushed for 93 and scored three touchdowns for the Indians (3-3, 2-1 AAC National). He also threw three touchdown passes.
Cardiero’s scoring runs covered 5, 11 and 10 yards. James Cupan caught two of his passes for 9- and 6-yard touchdowns. Cupan also scored on runs of 7 and 2 yards. He rushed 28 times for 195 yards.
Jordan Graziano caught nine passes for 111 yards, including a 4-yard score.
For the Golden Flashes (3-3, 1-2), Brandon McFarland rushed for 103 yards and scored touchdowns covering 54 and 2 yards. Jacob Rasey’s touchdowns covered 2 and 41 yards.
Lakeview 24, LaBrae 7

Michael Mannella ran for two touchdowns and Jake Pishotti caught a touchdown pass and kicked a crucial field goal in the Bulldogs’ AAC National win.
Mannella started the scoring with a 5-yard run. After LaBrae tied the game on Justin Jenkins’ scoring run, Pishotti hauled in a 27-yard pass from Angelo Marino. He then drilled a 28-yard field goal. Mannella sealed the contest with a 17-yard run. Lakeview (3-3, 3-0) held LaBrae (3-3, 2-2) to 21 yards rushing.
Jefferson 52, Newton Falls 18
NEWTON FALLS
The Tigers (1-5, 0-3 AAC National Division) pulled within 13-6 early in the second quarter but Jefferson (2-4, 1-3) scored the next four touchdowns to blow the game open. Larry Zarlengo finished with 114 yards rushing for Newton Falls and Brandon Fuller ran for 91 yards and passed for 77.
Crestview 55, Southern 14
NEW WATERFORD
Jake Ferris scored three touchdowns and Trevor Cope two for the Rebels (5-1, 2-1 Inter Tri-County League Tier One). Ferris caught two scoring passes (7 and 5 yards) from Collin Gilbert. Josh McDade opened the game with a 64-yard scoring reception. Cope rushed 13 times for 92 yards.
For the Indians (1-5, 0-3), Mike McKenzie 131 yards rushing included touchdowns of 55 and 10 yards.
Columbiana 39, Lisbon 20
COLUMBIANA
Clippers quarterback Mitch Davidson passed for 165 yards and ran for another 107. Davidson scored on an 83-yard run and hit Dalton Miller (25 yards) and Sean Congemi (19 yards) with scoring tosses. John Cramer rushed for 145 yards and scored on a 2-yard run for the Clippers (2-4, 2-1 ITCL Tier One).
For the Blue Devils (2-4, 1-2), Josh Liberati rushed 20 times for 120 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown. Jason Thompson’s 119 yards included touchdown runs of 56 and 22 yards.
Springfield 42, East Palestine 7
NEW middletown
Ryan Kohler carried 20 times for 134 yards and Graham Mincher passed for 138 yards as Springfield easily put away East Palestine in a home Inter Tri-County League win. The Tigers (5-1, 3-0 ITCL Tier One) scored 21 third-quarter points to pull away from the Bulldogs (0-6, 0-3).
Warren Harding 50, Shaw 16
CLEVELAND
Keemari Murry scored touchdowns on runs covering 67 and 55 yards for the Raiders (4-2, 3-0 Lake Erie League). He had 172 yards on 11 carries.
Minerva 63, Salem 39
SALEM
The Quakers (2-4, 0-3 Northeastern Buckeye Conference) trailed 34-7 before rallying to within 34-27 in the third quarter. Minerva (4-2, 2-1) then scored four of the next five touchdowns to put the game away. Salem sophomore Matthew Weingart passed for 321 yards and Mike Popa caught seven passes each, Crittenden for 139 yards and Popa for 111.
Louisville 48, West Branch 0
LOUISVILLE
The Warriors’ night was doomed in the game’s first five minutes. Louisville running back Andy Minster broke off a 48-yard run to put the Leopards ahead 7-0. After forcing West Branch to punt on its next possession, Dylan Kline blocked the Warriors’ punt and A.J. Minster was there for the recovery and touchdown.
Grand Valley 39, Southington 20
ORWELL
Southington (3-3) was tied with the Mustangs (1-5) after one quarter of the Northeastern Athletic Conference opener, but GV scored five unanswered touchdowns to blow open the game.
Mathews 33, Ledgemont 7
THOMPSON
Austin Arnal ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns to lead Mathews (4-2).
Edgewood 31, Beaver Local 10
LISBON
For the Beavers (2-4), Robbie Johnston scored on a 24-yard run and Justin McCoy kicked a 32-yard field goal. Morley Marsden rushed for 67 yards and Johnston 58.
