Porter’s last-second TD powers Rams victory

MINERAL RIDGE

Casey Porter bulled into the end zone from 4 yards out as time expired, giving Mineral Ridge a 32-29 victory over East Palestine in the Inter Tri-County League Tier One on Friday night.

The Rams (2-3, 1-1) rallied twice in the fourth quarter after leading 20-14 at halftime, and handed the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-2) their second consecutive defeat on the final play of the game.

Last week, East Palestine lost to Springfield 17-14 on a field goal as time expired.

Devin Redding led Mineral Ridge with 155 yards rushing and two TDs. His 15-yard run gave the Rams a 26-22 lead with 7:22 left in the game.

Derek Smith led East Palestine with 127 yards on the ground, and he scored with 5:29 to go to give the Bulldogs a 29-26 lead.

Luke Cope was 7 of 19 passing for 124 yards and three TDs. Jake Dicello caught three passes for 80 yards and a score, and Zak Brockner had two TD receptions.

United 17, Lisbon 7

Garrett Beech accumulated 162 yards on 21 attempts for United (1-4, 1-1 ITCL Tier One). Beech’s 37-yard run in the fourth quarter broke a 7-7 tie.

Mike Martin and Justin Harsh added 20 and 22 rushing yards, respectively. Tyler Sweeney of Lisbon (1-4, 0-2) connected with Jacob Borg on a 39-pass in the third quarter. Zac Barnes led with 43 rushing yards.

Southern 40, Jackson-Milton 13

SALINEVILLE

Luke Griffith passes for 223 yards and four scored for the Indians (5-0, 2-0 ITCL Tier Two). J.J. Napierkowski’s five catches included a 30-yard touchdown.

Zack Puckett rushed 31 times for 133 yards. He scored touchdowns covering 12 and 36 yards, and caught a 17-yard scoring pass from Griffith.

Brennen Morrison caught a 5-yard scoring pass from Zach Nagy for the Blue Jays (2-3, 0-2). He rushed 17 times for 55 yards.

McDonald 13, Leetonia 7

MCDONALD

Cameron Ifft caught a 7-yard pass from Christian Rusinowski in the fourth-quarter for the winning points.

Rusinowski scored the Blue Devils’ other touchdown on a 6-yard run. Randy Walters led McDonald (2-3, 1-1 ITCL Tier Two) with 57 yards on 14 carries.

For the Bears (2-3, 0-2), R.J. Pacella scored an 11-yard touchdown. Cody Stokes rushed for 51 yards and passed for 52.

Wellsville 14, Sebring 7

WELLSVILLE

Dakota Wagner rushed 18 times for 43 yards for the Trojans (2-3, 1-1 ITCL Tier Two). Josh Hereford threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Jake Hubbs.

Details on the Tigers (2-3, 1-1) were not reported.
