STRUTHERS

David Stewart rushed for 183 yard son 23 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead Struthers over Beaver Local, 20-7, in a non-league game on Friday night.

Stewart broke a scoreless tie with an 8-yard TD run with 5:18 remaining in the third quarter.

Mike Kunzer also scored for the Wildcats (2-1), on a 7-yard run, and Tommy Kimbrough was 5 of 11 passing for 55 yards.

Phillip Boehm led the Beavers (1-2) with 94 yards rushing. Jared Britt’s 9-yard pass to Mike Haydu accounted for Beaver Local’s only touchdown.

Garfield 14, Champion 7

GARRETTSVILLE

Bob Bright’s 42-yard touchdown with 2:15 remaining provided the winning points for the G-Men.

Tyler Covey caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Sebastian Neikirk with six seconds remaining before halftime for Garfield’s other score.

Neikirk completed 15 of 25 passes for 174 yards.

Justin Rasey gave Champion (1-2) an early lead with a 6-yard scoring run. Rocco Sandrella rushed 10 times for 89 yards.
