AAC: Lakeview beats East 35-19, Howland, Brookfield and Poland win

WARREN

Trevor West scored two second quarter touchdowns as Lakeview outscored East 22-0 over a 12-minute stretch to take control of their non-league game at Mollenkopf Stadium on Friday night.

Anthony Franco ran 19 times for 121 yards and also threw for a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs (5-4) to a 35-19 win.

Elijah Henderson started the comeback with a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the second quarter and West followed with a 6-yard TD run and an 11-yard TD pass from Henderson. Michael Mannela capped Lakeview’s scoring with a TD run midway through the fourth quarter.

George Leflore ran 17 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers (3-6) turned it over four times.

Howland 48, Liberty 6

HOWLAND

DeaVeon Smith continued to pound in out on the ground and the Tigers finished a perfect 9-0 on the season. He had 190 yards on 17 carries. Eric Lockney netted 116 yards through the air. Liberty dropped to 0-9.

Brookfield 41, Champion 20

BROOKFIELD

Ryan Mosora hauled in a 35 yard touchdown reception and ran for two scores of three and four yards. But, his biggest touchdown was an 84 yard kick return to the house to start the second half for the Warriors (8-1). Jeremy Quinlan was 6-for-8 through the air and finished with 182 yards passing. Mosora finished the night with 182 yards on the ground.

Champion (2-7) had a big night offensively, too. The Golden Flashes racked up 302 yards of total offense and were led by Jason Cyrus’s 78 rushing yards.
