MINERAL RIDGE

Quarterback Nick Russell scored two rushing touchdowns and threw three scoring passes on Friday as the Springfield High football team romped over Mineral Ridge, 49-19.

Russell’s scoring runs covered 20 and 14 yards for the Tigers (6-2, 3-2 Inter Tri-County League Tier One).

The scoring receptions were by Scott Gorby (45 yards), Ryan Stacy (8 yards) and Joe Ohlin (17 yards). Ohlin had six catches for 100 yards.

Russell completed 20 of 31 passes for 273 yards. He also rushed nine times for 78 yards.

Tom Mastran scored the Tigers’ other touchdown on a 5-yard run. In this week’s computer rarings, the Tigers were ninth in Div. V Region 17.

For the Rams (4-4, 3-2), Casey Porter scored on a 35-yard run, Jonathan Baker hit Nathan Palmer for a 15-yard score and Michael Eaton ran in from the 42. Porter gained 72 yards on 15 carries while Devine Redding rushed 13 times for 68 yards.

Crestview 65, East Palestine 17

COLUMBIANA

Nick Blower and Ryan Moffett rushed for 137 and 128 yards, respectively, for the Rebels (7-1, 5-0 Tier One).

Blower ran 24 yards with an interception return for a score and Moffett ran 5 and 44 yards for touchdowns.

It was 49-3 at the break and Crestview had more total yards, 474-166.

Matt Hardenbrook also had a pair of rushing touchdowns for 15 and 7 yards. The Rebels are third in this week’s computer ratings for Region 17 teams.

East Palestine is 1-7, 0-5.

Columbiana 27, United 7

COLUMBIANA

Quarterback Austin Barbato scored two touchdowns as the Clippers (7-1, 4-1 Tier One) bounced back from their only defeat. Barbato scored on runs covering 19 and 36 yards. He rushed 21 times for 204 yards.

Brandon Hacker scored on a 10-yard run and rushed 20 times for 109 yards. Lineman Jacob Theil returned a fumble 7 yards for a touchdown. The Clippers are fifth in this week’s computer ratings for Division V Region 17.

For the Eagles (2-6, 2-3), Garrett Beech returned a fumble 99 yards for a touchdown. They were limited to 47 yards rushing on 24 carries.

South Range 35, Lisbon 8

NORTH LIMA

Ross Stoffer scored two touchdowns for the Raiders (4-4, 3-2 Tier One). He caught a 22-yard scoring pass from Dan Good and ran for a 6-yard touchdown.

The Raiders’ other touchdowns were scored by Joey Phillips (12-yard run), Alex Dickey (4 yards) and Billy Goodall (34 yards).

Phillips rushed 11 times for 96 yards while Dickey gained 92 yards on 12 carries.

For the Blue Devils (1-7, 0-5), Danny Reese scored a 1-yard touchdown. Zach Barnes rushed 14 times for 69 yards

McDonald 28, Jackson-Milton 14

NORTH JACKSON

Christian Rusinowski, Stephen Vidman, Dylan Walters and P.J. Mansky each ran for a touchdown.

McDonald held Jackson-Milton without an offensive touchdown for nearly 45 minutes.

Vidman finished with seven carries for 69 yards and Rusinowski completed 4 of 6 passes for 67 yards for the Blue Devils (4-4, 3-2 Tier Two).

Brennen Morrison carried 20 times for 100 yards and a touchdown for the Bluejays (3-5, 1-4), who suffered three interceptions and lost a fumble.

Jake Armstrong added a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown — the team’s only points until Morrison’s touchdown with 3:14 left.

Southern 28, Leetonia 25

SALINEVILLE

Zac Puckett scored on a 6-yard run in the third quarter to rally Southern (7-1, 4-1 Tier Two) past Leetonia (3-5, 1-4).

The Bears scored 18 points in the second quarter to lead 25-21 at halftime.

Cody Stokes ran for a score and threw for one to lead Leetonia. He passed for 176 yards on the night.

R.J. Pacella scored on an 80-yard run. Trent Ferry and Tom Cruz had interceptions for the Leetonia defense.

Southern’s Luke Griffith threw for three scores and 185 yards.

Puckett finished with 273 yards on the ground.

Sebring 31, Lowellville 14

Sebring

Dakota Wagner scored on four separate occasions for the Trojans, returning two punts and rushing for two touchdowns.

Wagner put Sebring (4-4, 3-2 Tier Two) on the board in the second quarter on a 73-yard punt return. The extra point gave the Trojans the lead for good.

Wagner scored again on a 6-yard rush before the half.

Randy Pavlicko scored for Lowellville (1-7, 1-4) and Gino Moore had a 37 yard carry for a TD.
