Price, Stanko, Rousher named to first team

COLUMBUS

Fitch’s Billy Price, Howland’s Anthony Stanko and Canfield’s Jimmy Rousher have been named first-team All-Ohioans for football by the Associated Press.

Price, a 6-foot-4, 287-pound offensive lineman, was named in Division I, while Stanko, a 6-5, 290-pound offensive lineman and Rousher, a 6-3, 255-pound defensive lineman, were named in Div. II,

Players for Ohio’s other four divisions will be released today and Wednesday.

Boardman running back Devin Campbell was named to the Div. I second team for offense, and Fitch linebacker Will Mahone, a Notre Dame recruit, was selected to the Div. I second team for defense.

Boardman wide receiver Dayne Hammond, was named to the Div. I third team for offense.

Earning Special Mention for Div. I were Warren Harding’s Roger Craig, Boardman’s Dan Popio and Fitch’s Lucas Haupt.

For Div. II, Howlnd tailback De’Veon Smith was selected to the second team for offense, and Canfield defensive back Jordan Italiano was named to the second team for defense.

The Div. I players of the year are Wadsworth’s Jack Snowball and Mentor’s Mitch Trubisky for offense and Toledo Whitmer’s Chris Wormley and St. Ignatius’ Mike Svetina for defense.

Coaches of the year are John Magistro of Westerville Central and Findlay’s Mark Ritzler.

For Div. II, offensive player of the year is Trotwood-Madison’s Michael Simpson. Top defensive players are Madison’s Billy Skerkavich and Akron Kenmore’s Deon’tar Moore. Coaches are Norwalk’s Chris McFarland and Kings Mills Kings’ Andy Olds.
