Hughes tough as Campbell remains unbeaten

CAMPBELL
Ja’les Hughes ran 14 times for 94 yards and three TDs to help the Campbell High football team beat Brookfield 22-7.
Lester Hughes completed 12 of 19 passes for 147 yards for the Red Devils (4-0), who picked off Brookfield quarterback Jeremy Quinlan three times and recovered a fumble. Campbell led 22-0 early in the fourth quarter.
Quinlan completed 13 of 27 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors (1-3).
Girard 34, Newton Falls 0
GIRARD
Dan Graz threw three touchdown passes for the Indians (3-1, 1-0 AAC Blue). Catching them were Brandon Hunkus (17), Kyle Richey (38) and Brandon Byrd (40).
Ahmad Eggleston’s 92 yards rushing included a 4-yard scoring run.
For the Tigers (1-3, 0-1), C.J. Gregory rushed nine times for 42 yards.
Struthers 41, Liberty 7
STRUTHERS
Tommy Kimbrough passed for 151 yards and two touchdowns as the Wildcats (2-2, 1-1 AAC White) stunned the Leopards (1-3, 0-1).
Kevin McDonald caught a 47-yard pass to give Struthers the lead in the opening quarter. McDonald also returned a punt 43 yards for a score.
Kimbrough also connected with Jermayne Brooks for a 55-yard score.
Keith Auman rushed for 91 yards on 12 carries while Brooks gained 66 on 14 tries. Brandon Gearo booted field goals of 21 and 25 yards.
Charlie Purdue led the Leopards with 79 yards on 13 carries.
Niles 13, Beaver Local 6
LISBON
Mike Watson and Reggie Wells scored touchdowns for the Red Dragons (3-1, 1-0 AAC Red). Watson caught a 49-yard pass from Zack Bailey in the first quarter while Wells scored on a 20-yard run in the final frame.
Bailey completed 11 of 17 passes for 137 yards. Watson caught five of them for 79 yards.
Wells gained 52 yards on 20 tries.
The Beavers are 0-4, 0-1.
