Quarterback Demitrious Davis rushed for 143 yards to lead the Austintown Fitch High football team to a 34-0 romp over Painesville Riverside on Friday.

Davis also passed for 85 yards and scored three touchdowns. His longest run covered 71 yards.

Also for the Falcons (3-0), Chris Davis scored a 4-yard touchdown and Lucas Haupt returned an interception 48 yards. Bruce Reed rushed 12 times for 120 yards.

Jefferson Area 34, Brookfield 27, 2 OT

JEFFERSON

Colin Cicon hit Connor Cleveland with a 20-yard TD pass in the second overtime and Jefferson’s defense held on for the victory.

Jeremy Quinlan completed 11 of 19 passes for 92 yards and two TDs for Brookfield (1-2), which forced overtime with a 21-yard TD pass from Quinlan to Derrick Sulick with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. Both teams went scoreless in the first overtime session.

Quinlan carried 37 times for 189 yards in the loss.

Cicon completed 9 of 16 passes for 107 yards and three TDs for Jefferson (1-2).

Riverside 28, Mohawk 26

MOHAWK

Johnny Beatty threw an 8-yard TD pass to Colin Bredl with 11 seconds remaining but Mohawk’s conversion pass failed.

Beatty led Mohawk (0-2) with 14 carries for 83 yards and a TD and also completed 11 of 23 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Bredl caught seven passes for 62 yards and also ran for a 10-yard TD.

Jared Desensi rushed 19 times for 116 yards and a touchdown for Riverside (1-1).
