Seawood leads Harding; Springfield wins again

WARREN
Warren Harding quarterback Mikhail Seawood scored two touchdowns by running and passed two more in leading the Raiders to Friday’s 54-19 win over Chaney.
After Demond Hymes returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a 6-0 lead, Seawood scored on runs covering 12 and 8 yards for the Raiders (2-0
Hymes also scored a 1-yard touchdown and caught two scoring tosses covering 73 and 12 yards.
Seawood passed for 157 yards.
For the Cowboys (0-2), George Leflore scored on runs covering 1 and 3 yards. Emanuel Johnson also scored a 3-yard touchdown.
Clyde 38, East 22
Clyde
Twenty-two points in the third quarter wasn’t enough for the Panthers (1-1).
Quarterback Shajehan Haywood had 195 passing yards, and running back Devonta Fleetion had 42 on the ground.
Springfield 36, Yo. Christian 14
CANFIELD
Tommy Mastran scored on runs of 12 and 4 yards as the Tigers (2-0) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.
After Jake Noble made a 27-yard field goal, quarterback Brad Ferrera hit Jason Horn with a 1-yard scoring toss for a 23-0 lead at halftime. Also for the Tigers, Cody Pitzo scored on a 5 yard run while Jeremy Weingart recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Ferraro completed eight of 11 passes for 93 yards.
For the Eagles (0-2), Anthony Abeid gained 51 yards on 16 carries. Nick Gonda and Darien Towensend scored their touchdowns.
West Branch 20, New Philadelphia 8

Brenden Wells ran for 103 yards on 19 carries and had two touchdowns to lead West Branch (1-1).
Wells gave the Warriors an early lead, scoring from four yards out. New Philadelphia’s quarterback Mitch Riker connected with Michael Bazzoli on a 10 yard pass, but was unable to convert on the PAT. An intentional grounding by West Branch in their endzone sent the Warriors into halftime trailing 8-7.
West Branch’s Taylor Pidgeon scored in the middle of the fourth quarter, giving the Warriors the lead. Wells again added another touchdown from four yards out to seal the win for the Warriors. Warrior quarterback Troy James went 6 of 7 for 97 yards, and Pidgeon had two carries for 26 yards.
Brookfield 19, Western Reserve Academy 14
Brookfield
Denny Sulick carried the ball 20 times for a total of 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead Brookfield. Warrior quarterback Jeremy Quinlan was 8 of 14 for 76 yards.
Brookfield scored on a Mike Johnson 19 yard run, then later on a 16 yard run by Sulick to give the Warriors a 13-0 lead. .
Mathews 41, Windham 6
Vienna
Mathews snapped an 11-game losing streak with an offensive explosion against the Bombers (1-1).
The Mustangs (1-1) scored 20 points in the second quarter. They were guided by running back Wade Prueitt with 169 rushing yards, and quarterback Tyler Hunt with 132 passing yards.
Beaver Falls 41, Mohawk
BEAVER FALLS
Trey Hall and Andre Williams each ran for 104 yards to lead Beaver Falls (1-0).
Johnny Beatty had a 1-yard touchdown run and Colin Bradle had four catches for 57 yards to lead Mohawk (0-1).
