LEETONIA — With the scored tied, Josh Selway scored on a 4-yard run with 10:18 remaining in the fourth quarter to keep Leetonia (5-0, 2-0) unbeaten in a Inter-Tri-County Tier Two contest with a 32-26 victory over Southern Local Friday night.

The Bears rushed for 301 yards on 46 attempts, while Selway gained 202 on 24 tries, which also included TD runs of 60 and 52 yards. A.J. Bailey scored on a pair of 1-yard plunges for Leetonia.

Southern (3-2, 0-2), which took a 16-0 lead in the first quarter was sparked by Nathan Melhorn, who tallied on runs of 29 and 2 yards and he finished with 84 rushing yards on 20 carries. Trey Griffith caught a 81-yard TD strike from Michael McVay to give the Indians a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. McVay connected on four of nine passes for 119 yards, while Leetonia’s Selway completed three of nine passes for 69.

Lowellville 34, Sebring 8

LOWELLVILLE — Joe DePasquale passed and ran for a touchdown while Lowellville also had five different players scoring TDs as the Rockets stayed undefeated in the ITCL Tier Two (2-0).

DePasquale hit Jimmy Perry on a 5-yard strike, ran 9 yards to a TD and also found Bill Scachetti on a conversion pass to be involved in 14 points for Lowellville (2-3).

He finished with 103 yards in the air on 8-for-13 with no interceptions, and also rushed for 61 yards in nine carries.

Anthony Schiraldi added 63 rushing yards in nine carries, including a 4-yard TD dash.

Tyler Rhinehart scored for Sebring (0-5, 0-2) on a 28-yard dash and wound up with 63 yards in nine carries.

Western Reserve 27, Wellsville 24

WELLSVILLE — Eric Kannehan’s 7-yard touchdown reception from Shane Ewing with 3:48 remaining brought Western Reserve (5-0) from behind to remain unbeaten.

The Blue Devils trailed, 24-20, after Jeramy Carter’s 100-yard interception return with 8:28 remaining.

Ewing was 15 of 25 for 287 yards for the winners. He also scored on a 5-yard run.

Justin Lude was Ewing’s top target with seven catches for 158 yards. One of Lude’s receptions was for a 59-yard TD. Ewing also made a touchdown toss to Paul Arditi from 34 yards out. David Duncan made three point-after tries for Reserve.

In addition to his long pickoff return, Carter ran for two touchdowns and also threw to DeShon Pullie for another for Wellsville (3-1). Carter’s TD runs from scrimmage covered 23 and 54 yards and he finished with 130 yards on 18 rushes. Carter completed nine of 17 aerials for 138 yards, with Pullie grabbing four for 98 yards.

South Range 53, Lisbon 7

LISBON — Quarterback Jack Dawson threw two touchdown passes and was 8 of 10 for 142 yards in the rout for the Raiders (4-1, 2-0).

Dawson’s TD passes were to Nick Golic for 20 yards and to James Knell for 28 yards. Golic, a halfback, also had TD runs of 11 and 70 yards, while Steve Shimmer scored twice, from 25 and 5 yards out.

Golic had five carries for 87 yards, while Hunter Spitz gained 65 yards on seven runs, one of which was a 46-yarder just seconds after the opening kickoff.

Backup QB Vince Miller, a junior, also threw a touchdown pass to Phillip Arsuffi covering 45 yards.

Aaron Sweeney’s TD run and Terry Cook’s kick accounted for winless Lisbon’s points.

Columbiana 14, United 3

HANOVERTON — After the Golden Eagles (3-2, 1-1) took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, right back came as the Clippers‘ (4-1, 2-0) as Brian Warchol scored on a 23-yard run with 6 minutes, 56 seconds remaining in the half.

Columbiana added an insurance TD in the fourth quarter as Jon Richey scored on a 19-yard run.

Warchol gained 116 yards on 15 attempts, while United’s Adam Lewis rushed nine times for 49 yards.

Crestview 34, East Palestine 28
