Mohawk defeats Riverside, 22-21


ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — A pair of two-point conversions were the difference Friday as Mohawk High School posted a 22-21 victory over Riverside.

Travis Shubert rushed for 105 yards on 17 carries and scored on runs of 7 and 28 yards, his last TD with 4 minutes, 15 seconds remaining for the Warriors (2-1).

The (Panthers 0-3) took a 13-0 lead in the first quarter, Shubert then scored on a 7-yard run.

After the Warriors’ Randy Trosky blocked a Riverside punt in the endzone for a scored, Shubert run for two extra points. Following his fourth quarter TD, he also ran for the two-point conversion.
