AUSTINTOWN — Sylvestry Gibbs scored three touchdowns as Austintown Fitch broke to a 28-7 halftime lead and went on to a 41-20 win over Parma Sr., to remain undefeated Friday night at Falcon Stadium.

Gibbs ran for two scores from the 22- and 1-yard lines, and also caught a 22-yard scoring strike from Jon Ballard, who finished with 140 yards in the air on 15-for-21 with no interceptions.

Gibbs led Fitch rushing with 60 yards in 10 carries, while Ballard added 55 yards in 15 tries and Nick Groat 36 yards in five runs.

The highlight of Fitch’s halftime lead was Aaron Edwards’ 97-yard touchdown run on a pass interception for the Falcons’ second TD of the game.

The Falcons padded their lead with 13 points in the final quarter on two of Gibbs’ TDs that came on Ballard’s pass and Gibbs 10-yard run.

Ken Burns was 6-for-6 on extra-point attempts.

Parma Sr. (1-2) was led by quarterback Kevin Wenzl and receiver Brian Swartz, who both hooked up on two TDs covering 62 and 7 yards.

Wenzl finished with 21-for-39 passing for 297 yards while Swartz caught eight passes for 143 yards. Chuck Kennedy nabbed five aerials for 50 yards.

Youngs. Christian 34, Sebring 0

SEBRING – The Eagles limited Sebring to only 102 yards of offense and picked off four passes during the rout.

Youngstown Christian running back Marqueal Smith started the scoring with a 50-yard run early in the first quarter. Smith’s touchdown was the beginning of a 22-point first quarter.

Youngstown Christian improved to 1-2 while Sebring fell to 0-3 on the year.

Warrensville Heights 6, East 0

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS — The Tigers scored on a 48-yard pass play for the only score of the game. No other details were provided.
