NEWTON FALLS — Kyle Clonch plunged 1 yard to a touchdown with only one second left in the game, to give Newton Falls a 26-20 win over Windham in a regular season makeup football game Friday night.
The game originally was scheduled for week three of the season, but was postponed because of the Newton Falls’ teachers’ strike.
Windham (1-9) had tied the score at 20-20 on Allen Blake’s 3-yard run with 1:04 remaining.
John Davis scored two touchdowns for Newton Falls (4-6) on runs of 3 and 7 yards, and finished with 58 yards in 15 carries, while teammate Anthony Kline scored on a 67-yard dash and concluded with 57 yards rushing in 11 attempts.
Matt Brazin, the Tigers’ quarterback, was 8-for-13 passing for 101 yards, six of his throws going to Matt Novotny for 75 yards.
Allen Blake scored two TDs for Windham on runs of 7 and 3 yards, and ran for a game-high 132 yards in 20 carries.
Quarterback Jesse Burns was 4-for-10 passing for 76 yards, two going to Blake for 56 yards.
