Top Dems Demand Dann Resign
Statewide Democratic elected officeholders are calling for the resignation of Marc Dann as attorney general.
Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, who signed the letter, said it is signed by all statewide officeholders — Gov. Ted Strickland, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher and Treasurer Richard Cordray — as well as top Democratic legislative leaders, according to Jeff Ortega, her spokesman.
“They’re urging him to resign,” said Ortega, who had a brief conversation with Brunner about the letter.
The Democratic officials all agreed to send and sign it, Ortega said.
An attempt to reach Dann, a Liberty Democrat, on his cell phone this morning was unsuccessful.

Dann was adamant Friday when he met with The Vindicator that he had no intention of resigning.
The letter was sent as a result of a major scandal at the attorney general’s office with Dann, who is married, admitting to having an affair with Jessica Utovich, who worked as his scheduler.
The scandal led to the office firing two administrators as well as the resignation of Dann’s chief of staff. Utovich also resigned.
Gov. Ted Strickland has canceled all appearances scheduled for today, including one at the Chevy Centre in Youngstown, and has instead scheduled a press conference for 12:30 p.m. today in Columbus.
