CENTER — The Center High School football team defeated Mohawk 36-8 Friday.

Mohawk crept out to an early lead on a 10-yard run by Travis Schubert. Schubert added another two points on the ensuing conversion.

Center’s balanced attack accumulated 283 yards of total offense.

Quarterback Preston Dawson was nearly perfect, going 12-15 for 186 yards and two touchdowns.

Ben Cobb ran the ball well for Center, gaining 62 yards on the ground on 10 carries and two touchdowns. Receiver Damon Cotton caught seven passes for 134 yards and a touchdown.

For Mohawk (0-1), Schubert finished with 127 yards on 15 carries. Quarterback Seth Powell went 6-14 for 48 yards with an interception.
