POLAND — Luke Wollett caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Gannon Hulea on Friday to help lead the Poland High football team to a 31-3 victory over Parma Normandy.
Wollett also scored on a 19-yard run to trigger the Bulldogs’ (2-0) offense.
Poland rushed for 204 yards and passed for 24. Normandy gained 145 yards rushing and passed for 172.
Canton South 28, Canfield 6
CANTON — Canton South quarterback Matt Tressel burned Canfield’s defense for three touchdowns passes and the Wildcats earned their second straight impressive victory.
Tressel completed 9 of 17 passes for 205 yards and also ran for a score to lead Canton South, which took a 28-0 lead. The Wildcats, who defeated Dover last week, outgained the Cardinals (1-1), 370-213.
Blake Jackson rushed nine times for 50 yards and a touchdown for Canfield, while senior QB Adam Muth hit nine of 13 passes for 93 yards.
Crestview 42, Brookfield 0
BROOKFIELD — Cory Hill rushed 160 yards on 18 carries, which included TD runs of 21 and 3 yards for the unbeaten Rebels (2-0).
Carter Hill was equally impressive as he connected on 8-of-9 passes for 64 yards. He also rushed for 53 yards on nine attempts, which included TD runs of 2, 15 and 5 yards.
Nick Robinson tallied on a 1-yard run.
Newton Falls 28, Southeast 27
RAVENNA — John Davis’ 1-yard touchdown run with 1:10 remaining set up Brian Sole’s conversion pass to Matt Novotny for the winning points.
Eric Kline rushed 19 times for 123 yards while Davis had 23 carries for 83 yards and two scores. Sole completed nine of 18 passes for 114 yards.
Southeast quarterback Anthony Pennington passed for 245 yards.
Garfield 37, Champion 6
CHAMPION — The Garfield ground attack accounted for 250-yards rushing on 45 carries, which included TD runs by Brenton Semplacy, Nick Kleinhen, Travis Macek and Bobby Bright.
Derek Sumner caught a 74-yard TD pass from Shane Brown for Champion in the second quarter. Brown completed six of 19 passes for 117 yards.
LaBrae 62, East Palestine 13
